Trivia / Colonel Bleep

Go To

  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show hasn't been seen on television in the U.S. since the production company (Soundac) closed in 1970. Most of what survived of the show was released on two VHS tapes in 1991 by Streamline Pictures and the remainder was released on DVD in 2005. Those are "public domain" releases — the show's copyright lapsed in 1985.
  • Missing Episode: When Soundac closed down, the company's materials (including the master tapes of Colonel Bleep and other shows) were moved into a van which was subsequently stolen. As a result, less than half of the episodes and very little of the production materials are known to exist today — the surviving episodes are copies that were discovered in the film storage vault of a TV station in the Southwest.
    • In 2019, nine of the lost episodes were uploaded onto YouTube.
