Trivia / Bray Wyatt

  • Author's Saving Throw: At Hell in a Cell 2019, WWE started booking the Fiend's matches to take place under a red light gimmick. This was criticised by many for making it hard to see what was happening in his matches. By Royal Rumble 2020, he was back to wrestling in full colour again.
  • Breakup Breakout: Towards The Nexus along with Daniel Bryan and Ryback, and most certainly is this out of the prospects that joined the CM Punk-led version of the stable.note
  • Defictionalization: WWE has now been making merchandise based off the Firefly Fun House, including puppets based off of the characters from the show.
  • Died During Production: Bray's 2022 much-anticipated return storyline, surrounding the nature of his inner darkness and the identity of Uncle Howdy, was cut short by his unexpected passing before it even had a chance to really begin.
  • Real Song Theme Tune:
    • WWE bought the rights to Mark Crozer's "Broken Out In Love" so they could use it as Bray's theme song. The Fiend used a remix version sung by industrial metal band Code Orange.
    • To build hype around the White Rabbit mystery, a version of Jefferson Airplane's "White Rabbit" that isolated Grace Slick's vocals was played, off-air, during commercial breaks at RAW and Smackdown events.
    • "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands", a public domain spiritual which Bray appropriated for his own purposes.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Bray Wyatt was Brock Lesnar's original opponent for WrestleMania 32 after injuries depleted the roster. However, the build-up to Fastlane showed that Lesnar and Dean Ambrose had good chemistry together. Combine that with Ambrose's rising popularity and it was decided to change Lesnar's opponent to Ambrose. Wyatt instead got Lesnar at the Roadblock special, only for the match to turn into a handicap match so Luke Harper could wrestle Lesnar instead due to Wyatt suffering a back injury.
    • There were hints for a feud between the Wyatt Family and the League of Nations after Bray and his goons attacked the League after they fired Bad News Barrett, but Bray was injured at a house show and thus the plans were dropped. This didn’t help the League, though, as they disbanded a few weeks later.
    • According to a report by Fightful Select, WWE planned for a double turn to take place with Seth Rollins and "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt at Crown Jewel 2019, with Rollins going heel and Wyatt officially turning face. This ended up slowly taking place in the aftermath of said match.
  • Written-In Infirmity: At one time during NXT, he suffered a facial injury; however, he continued wrestling while wearing a mask.
  • You Look Familiar: Wyatt was Husky Harris.
