The Early Chaos

• The universe comes into existence as the One Unified Plane.
• An Angelic sorceress of light creates the Tristivore to purge her realm of sadness but it backfires, killing all creatures that it feeds on.
• The Division of the Planes occurs, dividing the Unified Plane into 3: Echoss, Earth, and Bathmos with the Tristivore going extinct in the division.

The Planes Divided Once More

• The Angelic Planes are divided once more into 6 and the Demon Planes into 5.
• Disarray becomes a wasteland at some point.

From 912 years ago to before the first book's events

• Cahatel is born.
• Their family dies and they're taken in as Pael's student.
• Cahatel meets Daniel and become close friends.
• The Divine plans on dividing the Multi-Plane once more.
• Cahatel and Daniel launch a rebellion against them but it fails with Cahatel shattering their halo along with every other rebel angel being broken.
• The Divine creates Plane 13: Tartarus.
• Cahatel and the other rebels are banished to Earth or the Lower Planes.
• Coronator Tartarus rises into power along with the 7 Demon Kings during the golden age of Demon rule.
• Gord is summoned to Plane 7 by two witches.
• Norma, Badyah, Barney, and Logs are born.
• Jayesh Khan dies at sea.
• Norma goes to Dead End for the first time.
• Patrick is born.
• Pugsley and another pug are adopted by Barney and Patrick.
• 3 years prior to the events of the Watcher's Test, Barney and Norma meet. Shortly after, Norma goes to Dead End again and enjoys it and applies for a job as tour guide.
• She later meets Cahatel who now goes by Courtney.
• Sometime later, Courtney and Norma discover the elevator and Courtney decides to become an Ambassador to find out who they are and to control the flow of demons coming up.
• At Angelic Applications, they and Danny reunite with the latter applying for the Bureau of Paradoxes.
• 6 months prior to the first book, Barney runs away with Pugsley.
• Courtney asks Temeluchus to visit the Dead End Ambassy and tries to find a host.

The Watcher's Test

• Pugsley is possessed by Temeluchus. Barney and Norma with the help of Logs save Pugsley. The Watcher sees all this and decides to test the three.
• Other Barney arrives on Earth and is placed under Barney's care who hides him from Kushiel out of fear. Soon Murdoch appears and fights Courtney and Pugsley but is killed by Kushiel for travelling illegally.
• Beach Day occurs with Ana taking Norma to see Doctor McKinley who is revealed to be a fear-eating demon and is killed by them. Barney agrees to go have drinks with Logs.
• The Cult of Princes mourn Doctor McKinley and swear to avenge him.
• After Barney and Norma leave for the night with their friends, Pugsley learns magic with Courtney, accidentally turning Barney and Norma into a dog and cat.
• The Cult of Princes attack Barney thinking he's the murderer but are driven off by Pugsley who then defeats Kyuzo the samurai.
• Gord infiltrates the school and is invited to Vince's birthday party at Dead End.
• Pugsley summons a Tristivore to cheer Barney up and barely manages to save the day.
• Barney and Patrick reunite while Courtney discovers the ghost of Pugsley.
• Barney and Patrick talk at the dinner before noticing 3 Pauline Phoenix impersonators one of which becomes possessed by Pauline for her latest show.
• Barney and Logs talk and agree to go out for "Us" drinks.
• They attend Pauline Phoenix's Christmas birthday party along with Norma and Badyah. Norma notices that Pauline Phoenix is possessing the impersonator and leaves the party, leading Badyah and Barney back to Dead End, leaving behind Logs.
• The three with Pugsley and Fingers brainstorm a plan to exorcise Pauline Phoenix with Badyah sneaking it and taking a photo of Pauline Phoenix who she sends to Norma which allows Pauline to possess Norma.
• Barney and Pugsley retreat with Fingers dying trying to hold off Pauline Phoenix. The two run into a Robin Hood cosplayer who is frustrated that the challengers do not cower.
• Pugsley uses a spell to try and evict Pauline from Norma but the ghost ducks out of the way and the beam hits Norma.
• Dead End collapses due to Pugsley unleashing an outburst of magic, killing Barney as well.
• In the future, Barney, Norma, and Pugsley's ghosts are captured by the Watcher and sent back in time to fight a series of 3 challenges but fail the first two.
• Pugsley resurrects Barney but gets distracted and botches Norma's resurrection.
• Courtney reveals that Pugsley has been dead ever since he first got possessed.
• Barney goes back in time to kill the Watcher as a child but learns that Pugsley is the Watcher who catches up to him.
• Future Pugsley takes Barney to the time of the Dividing War and shows him among the fighting before the two begin fighting. Meanwhile in the present, Fingers rescues Norma, Pugsley, Courtney.
• Pugsley decides to destroy the photo of Temeluchus to stop the Watcher which ends up killing them both. Barney is sent back to the present and mourns Pugsley.
• Some time later, Pauline's funeral is held. Logs and Barney talk and have their first kiss which Norma and Badyah see.
• Later on Plane 13: Tartarus, Courtney meets with the Demon Kings and tells them that they know the identity of Temeluchus' killer.

Between the Watcher's Test and the Broken Halo

• Word of Barney's exploits spread throughout the Lower Planes, causing a line of demons to start queuing up to fight him.
• Barney moves in with Logs.
• Dead End is rebuilt as a hotel.
• The rest of Fingers begin working at the hotel.
