- There are several references to To both DC Comics and Marvel Comics, Star Wars, Tom and Jerry, etc.
- There's also one to SpongeBob SquarePants in the episode where they visit Atlantis that borders on Take That!. "Our diet consists mainly of crabs, starfish, and the occasional underwater squirrel."
- Cosmo calls Timmy "CheeseBoy SquarePants" in one scene from Wish Fixers.
- And in "Ruled Out", Timmy's dad says that "pants are for squares".
- The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius crossed over with The Fairly OddParents three times, but long before that were Jimmy, Carl, and Cindy, the random animals Cosmo named in "Sleep Over and Over".
- The most obscure example would be Bubsy, whose catch phrase was "What could possibly go wrong?!"...which became Timmy's catchphrase. Also considered a Take That! since this line is delivered in the most wooden, cliche way possible.
- Another in which Timmy creates a male version of Vicky for her to fall in love with, at the end of the episode Ricky goes off with Crocker's mom (after a dating site mishap) and Vicky exclaims "Ricky, don't lose my number! You don't have to call nobody else! Send it off in a letter to yourself!" a line from "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" by Steely Dan.
- Dr. Mindbender was an orthodontist before joining COBRA, and his real name was "Dr. Bender".
- Which in itself is yet another shoutout.
- "Channel Chasers" features parodies of multiple popular series of the past and present, including Dragon Ball Z, Blue's Clues, Tom and Jerry, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Sesame Street, and Looney Tunes.
- "Pipe Down" features Timmy somehow managing to misinterpret a rowboat gesture in a game of charades as the entirety of Ghostbusters II.
- In one of the episodes where Timmy goes to Fairy World, there is a street sign with streets, one called Penn and one called Teller.
- In "Playdate of Doom", Foop's evil plan is to send Poof into a pocket dimension shaped like a flat square.
- To the 1960's Batman series: Can anyone try to identify the Batman and Robin expies in this image◊?
- "The Good Ol' Days" is a love letter to the various cartoons from the 1920s/1930s: Steamboat Willie and various Classic Disney Shorts are referenced... and the apparently made-up theme song for the episode is actually a shout-out: namely, it's a Suspiciously Similar Song to the main theme heard at the beginning of Lady, Play Your Mandolin!, possibly as an instance of Self-Deprecation given all the Writing Around Trademarks and the various Lawyer-Friendly Cameos involved.
- Not to mention, one of the street signs says "Ub Iwerks" on it.
- The title of School's Out! may be a reference to another popular cartoon with a movie with a similar name, but released theatrically.
- In one episode where Timmy goes to tour his dad's workplace (with an obligatory Chocolate Factory spoof to boot), Mr. Turner gushes about how he's his boss's favorite employee to Timmy. His boss responds to this with a scream of "HOMER!" "—Uh, it's Turner, sir."
- A song similar to "Pure Imagination" plays at the end of "Scary GodParents", befitting the idea of raining candy.
- To AC/DC in "Lights Out," at the end, when Timmy denies that he was scared of Cosmo as Wanda in their 'Scary Fairies' form, Wanda poofs it back to complete darkness with the poof saying 'Back in Black' and then back to light with the poof saying "Let There Be Light."
- The Giant Fairy Storage in "Escape from Unwish Island." Just to name a few, some of the people who have lockers are Walt Disney, Puff Daddy, Duran Duran, Carrot Top, Milli and Vanilli, and some people working on the show itself just to name a few. It's like a goldmine of Shout Outs.
- The episode "Power Mad":
- At the beginning, Timmy recreates the famous scene of Neo dodging bullets from The Matrix
- When Cosmo and Wanda are using their magic to act as multiple tv stations as she switches through them, one them goes to "Cosmo!" with a surprisingly similar jingle. "It's a show about nothing! ... How do we know when its over?" The gag also works considering that Kramer's first name is revealed to be Cosmo. At another point, they recreate I Love Lucy.
- "I Was a Teenage Blowfly" (from "Fly Boy") stars Dash Baxter from Danny Phantom.
- ...Which itself is a Shout-Out to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) episode "Enter the Fly" where, well, Baxter gets turned into a fly.
- Channel Chasers has enough to warrant its own page.
- In "Fairly Oddbaby," after the Anti Fairies and Pixies use Poof to start the apocalypse, the news notes, among other things Dogs and Cats are living together. "It's mass hysteria!"
- The first act has blatant references to The Bee Gees.
- During the Mind Screw near the end, Cosmo and Wanda are depicted as cave people dressed as Fred and Wilma Flintstone.
- Wanda (as well as her husband) turn into Timmy's pet goldfish.
- The Poltergeeks are a parody of the Ghostbusters.
- The title card and the name of the episode is a spoof of Poltergeist.
- One Man Banned had many references to several musicians including Michael Jackson, Nirvana, OK Go, and The Beatles.
- Timmy also sports an Elvis-like attitude and belly.
- In "The Gland Plan", Anti-Cosmo first referred to Wanda as Clarice.
- In "Scary Odd Couple", when Vicky sees Timmy wished for a circus in his room, she tries to bust him, but ends up fruitless, just like another redheaded teenage girl in animation.
- "Big Wanda" has a horse head pillow and chiaroscuro lighting (the latter of which is lampshaded by Wanda).
- In "The Secret Origin of Denzel Crocker", Timmy decides that he has to go back in time further to see why Crocker is so miserable, and ends up in the 1980s. Seconds before he arrives there, we see the iconic DeLorean time machine from Back to the Future leaving a pair of fire trails behind.
- There's a Blink And You'll Miss It shout out in Wish Fixers. When Cosmo and Wanda turn themselves into rubber, the poof cloud says Rubber Soul.
- Also in Wish Fixers: "Pay no attention to the pixie controlling the Jorgen robot."
- In "Two and a Half Babies", Foop reads two pages from his favorite children's book: "If you feed a mouse...a poison cookie...it dies!"
- In "The End of the Universe-ity", one of Dark Laser's henchmen (the one with blue skin) is a shout out to Admiral Thrawn.
- The title card of "Beach Bummed" features Timmy and a crab imitating the unmistakable Coppertone logo.
- The music in the end of the same episode sounds very similar to the theme from Chariots of Fire.
- The lifeguards are an obvious Baywatch reference.
- "Stage Fright" has a field day with theater references: Vicky gets to act in "Girl on a Hot Tin Roof", "A Streetcar Named Destruction", "Death of a Saleswoman", "Who's Afraid of a Wolf, Virginia?", and finally, "Crock of Ages". Not to mention Timmy's fake director name, "Goodnight Shamalot".
- Maybe Nickelodeon did that to get back at said director after what he did to one of their other shows.
- The invitation to Cosmo and Wanda's high school reunion is delivered by an owl wearing a maroon and gold striped scarf in "Truth or Cosmoquences".
- Timmy's middle name, Tiberius, is likely a reference to James Tiberius Kirk.
- "Shelf Life" directly plays with several classic works of literature: Moby Duck, Frankenstein's Monster Truck, Tarzan Lord of the Drapes, Jason and the Pussycats, The Three Mouseketeers, and The Rat in Spats. Not to mention starring villain Tom Sawyer and the various novels used as frisbees or bowling pins in a montage...
- "Odd Odd West" has one of the kids dressed in Lucky Luke style.
- Competing for the most obscure reference: The Flash/Wonder Woman expy in "Power Pals" is named Joan Jet.
- Cosmo as Braveheart in "Homewrecker". (Episode contains also a possible The Shining reference but that could be a generically Ax-Crazy Vicky.)
- The Monster Hunter at the end of "No Substitute For Crazy". Fairy Wiki says it's an obvious parody of van Helsing, but a) which of them? b) Harry exists c) so does Geralt, so a Word of God would be helpful.
- In one of the original Oh Yeah! Cartoons shorts, Timmy says "Warp Speed, Mr. Sulu" while riding a roller coaster.
- In "The Temp", when Timmy tries to guess the name of the temp fairy, the first guess is "Voltron."
- In "The Zappys!" Jorgen starts quoting Sally Field's famous Oscar acceptance speech. When the audience doesn't bite, he turns his wand on them and states "You must like me!"
- In "Super Humor", An Australian mutters "That's not a knife!" when he confronts a Little Green Men.
- Two in "Hex Games"
- When seeing all the odd occurrences in space, an astronaut says "Houston, we have a problem."
- Cosmo rides Timmy's back when training in the jungle, talking like Yoda.
- Action Packed features an action movie starring a protagonist named McCain. The movie Timmy's Dad thought they were watching was "The boring dog who could shoot boring hoop."
- "Timvisible" has a title card that features Timmy in a get up similar to Claude Rains in The Invisible Man (1933)
- "Totally Spaced Out": Cosmo shows Mark a fake holographic message from Vicky, which starts with "Help me, Mark Chang, you're my only hope!"
- "Mighty Mom and Dyno Dad": Timmy's supervillian persona is a parody of Galactus, complete with Cosmo and Wanda turning into versions of Silver Surfer.
- In "Fairy Fairy Quite Contrary", the gorilla from the second challenge ends up parodying Donkey Kong.
- In "Genie Meanie Minie Mo", the lawyer that Timmy wishes for is named "Fairy Mason".
- In "What's the Difference?", Wanda shows Timmy how much fun reading can be by offering him Of Mice and Men and The Grapes of Wrath.
- In "Crockin' the House", Timmy buys a video game called Fallouch.
- In "Fairly Odd Fairy Tales", Foop's restaurant is named "Fast Foop", the slogan being "Have it my way!" This references Burger King and its slogan, "have it your way".
- The montage in "One Man Banned" features Timmy and his fairies dancing as zombies and them jumping between treadmills. It then switches to them dancing as silhouettes again single color backdrops, which references Apple's iPod commercials. Some of the album covers seen during the montage are also references.
