Promotional cover for series 1
Jamie Johnson is a British children's drama television show first broadcast on CBBC on 8 June 2016. The series follows the self-titled character, portrayed by Louis Dunn, as he negotiates secondary school and issues at home, along with being a talented footballer.

Tropes:

  • Abusive Parent: Dillon's dad may be considered this, seeing as he kicked out Dillon for being gay and telling Liam he is not proud of him despite all his hard work.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Dillon gets to play in the Gothia Cup, while Liam is kicked off Phoenix for being homophobic, though Liam does return a year later Reformed, but Not Tamed.
  • Alpha Bitch: Indira in early season 2. However, she shows many redeeming qualities and is more of a Lovable Alpha Bitch.
    • Dillon is a male version of this.
    • Liam, like his brother, also counts as a male version, however he seems to be The Friend Nobody Likes.
  • Disappeared Dad: Jamie's dad, Ian, in season 1 and early season 2.
  • Girl Next Door: Aisha.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: Jamie and Boggy.
  • Instant Web Hit: Jamie Johnson after scoring a goal against Leon Tibbs.
  • Jerkass with a Heart of Gold: Dillon bullies other students because he thinks it’s funny, and he initially does not accept Jack as his teammate in season 1. However, in season 3 he refuses to steal a bike when Jethro tries pressuring him and Jamie. Jamie reluctantly agreed, but Dillon genuinely didn’t fancy stealing someone else’s property, showing good morals. As well as that, by season 4, 5 and 6 he gets along well with pretty much everyone.
    • Harry is a smaller example, as he doesn’t show many redeeming qualities, but he did accept Jamie as his teammate briefly, before Dillon joined them and quickly took it back.
    • Mr Hansard is overall a fair teacher, and was impressed and liked Jamie at first, before realising he’s the grandson of Mike, the person who ended his hopes of a football career. He later starts getting on well with Jamie again later on however and even forgives Mike.
    • Jethro becomes friends with Dillon and Jamie after their rivalries later in season 3. But he later proves himself to not be a great friend after all.
    • Liam showed some big Jerk Jock qualities like his brother did, making fun of those different from himself and later making a homophobic comment about his rivals two mothers. But by season 5, though still obnoxious, he is overall more mature and tried to be friends with his teammates. By season 6, he’s got more manipulative as he was rejected by them, but still, he does have a valid reason this time.
  • Jerk Jock: Dillon, Harry, Jethro, Liam. Graham, Dillon and Liam’s father also applies. It’s implied that Mr Hansard and Mike were in their youth (even if they are nice people now).
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Jack and Nancy.
    • Zoe and Indira.
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Jethro for pressuring Jamie to bunk off detetion, steal a bike then blow it up.
