Recap / The Suite Life Of Zack And Cody S 2 E 31 Risk It All

Go To

Zack and Cody earn a place on a game show, but Cody's greed causes a problem when Zack becomes unable to do the last challenge. Back at the Tipton, Maddie writes an angry letter to Mr. Moseby to vent her anger, but London accidentally sends it, and Maddie must keep Mr. Moseby from reading it.

  • An Aesop:
    • Don't get greedy and listen to your teammates.
    • If you have issues with someone, talk to them about it instead of complaining behind their back.
  • All or Nothing: The premise of the "Risk It All" game show. As contestants win more challenges and prizes, they have the option of either quitting but getting to keep what they've won or continuing the game, but risking every prize they've won up to that point.
  • All for Nothing: Zack fails the final challenge and as a result, they loose all the items they previously won.
  • Comedic Under Wear Exposure: In order to get on the show, Zack pulls down Cody's pants and shows his underwear in front of the studio audience.
  • Consolation Prize: The boys win a room in the Boston Tipton hotel, the very place where they live, much to their annoyance.
  • Didn't Think This Through: One of the early questions/physical challenges has the theme "Sports." Zack answers the question without thinking, then says Cody's not the only smart one. Cody then says that means he has to do the physical challenge.
Zack: Oops. Maybe you are the smart one.
  • Game Show Appearance: The twins get a chance to appear on "Risk It All," a show where a team of two people compete by having one answer a quiz question and then having the other complete a physical challenge that somehow relates to the question. They get a prize for each pair of challenges completed and are given the chance to either walk away with the prizes after each challenge or "risk it all" by going on to the next one, losing everything if they can't pass. Zack and Cody think they have a perfect strategy by having Cody answer the questions and Zack complete the physical challenges, but Zack gets so tired out doing them he blows the last one after Cody makes him do it.
  • Greed Makes You Dumb: Before they start, Cody makes Zack promise that if one of them wants to stop playing and keep whatever they've won to that point instead of risking it all, they will stop. However, when Zack does just that before the final round because he's too exhausted to do another physical challenge, Cody ignores him because he's gotten too greedy and wants the grand prize. Zack winds up failing the challenge and they lose all the great prizes they had won up to that point.
  • Irrevocable Message: Maddie writes an insulting email to Mr. Moseby to vent her frustrations about his treatment of her. London sends it, and Maddie, Esteban and London try to break into Mr. Moseby's office to delete it before he reads it. They delete the email, but Mr. Moseby has already read it on his smartphone.
  • Undesirable Prize: After the twins lose the game, they receive a consolation prize of a stay at the Boston Tipton Hotel, much to their annoyance. Subverted later when they realize they can use their prize to stay in another room away from Carrey, who's sobbing over the fact they lost out on the Hawaii trip, for the night.
