Zack sees a scary movie against his mother's wishes, while London pretends to be poor to impress a boy.

- An Aesop: Whether someone is rich or poor doesn't necessarily have any correlation as to whether they're good or bad.
- Horrible Judge of Character: Downplayed. When Brandon finally learns that London is rich, he comments that she's rather sweet and down to earth, defying his earlier perception of rich people as greed-bags. To this, a disbelieving Maddie remarks that Brandon must be stupid to think London's nice in any way. Her comment easily paints her as a rather mean person in his eyes, despite that she's poor and working class. Although it's rather true that both girls have their respective good and bad sides, it's not to say Brandon's is a completely good judge of each girl's character.
- Kids Shouldn't Watch Horror Films: Despite Carey deliberately telling Zack and Cody not to see a scary movie called "Zombie Mom" on their date with Janice and Jessica, Zack convinces Cody to see the movie anyway so the girls will be so scared they will the both of them during the movie. Unfortunately for Zack the movie scares him so much he starts sleepwalking and barricading the doorway in the lobby with the furniture.
