Clumsy and Dimwitty are called out as part of the Smurf Village Fire Rescue Team to rescue Brainy from being swallowed by a snake, but their attempts of freeing Brainy have resulted in them being swallowed as well. Hefty tries to force the snake's mouth open, but gets blown away by a sneeze. Smurfette shows up wearing a track suit, and with a few well-placed martial arts moves forces the snake to vomit up the three Smurfs. Impressed by Smurfette's skill at what she calls Smurf-Fu, Smurfette offers those who were interested a chance to learn from her the same techniques so that they could easily defend themselves when they are out alone in the forest. However, very few of the Smurfs who join Smurfette's class take their lessons seriously, and those that do find themselves so overwhelmed that they decided that they're better off quitting. This irritates Smurfette, who wants to see her fellow Smurfs be sufficient enough to tackle dangers alone, even as Hefty says that they have each other as Smurfs to get themselves out of any danger.
Smurfette's skills are put to the test again as Bigmouth the ogre captures three of her fellow Smurfs and plan to use them as part of his sandwich. However, even Smurfette by herself is no match for the ogre, as he just swats her like a fly when she tries to make a flying kick attack towards his face. Fortunately the Smurfs are there to help rescue Smurfette and her three fellow Smurfs from the ogre, from which Smurfette learns that there's nothing like relying on your friends to help you get out of danger.
