Recap / The Proud Family S 2 E 7 Camping Trip

Go To

Oscar takes the family and friends on a camping trip. Thigs do not go according to plan.

  • Bizarro Episode: This applies to the second half of the story in which Oscar and Felix encounter creatures like an abominable snow monster and a pterodactyl.
  • Butt-Monkey: Oscar and Felix are thrust into this as they venture out into the wilderness to find help; having to climb a mountain, get chased by a yeti and a bear off a cliff then fall when a squirrel stamps on Oscar's hands as he's hanging from the edge. Eventually they get snatched up by a pterodactyl and taken to its nest.
  • Cassandra Truth: Duke’s warning of the riverbed being flooded heed only to the words of Dijonay, Sticky and Zoey before it is too late for the others.
  • Don't Make Me Destroy You: In a rather non-violent sense, Trudy threatens Oscar to get everyone out from the forest or he will become her ex-husband.
  • Drawing Straws: How the familes determine who goes out to find help. Oscar and Felix attempt to give Suga Mama and Papi the shortest straws, but it backfires and they end up getting the short straws.
  • Exact Words: Felix told Oscar once he came from a long line of campers, and assumed he meant he went camping. He did not, he just lived in a trailer park.
  • Horrible Camping Trip: Not willing to listen to Duke's advice, the families' camping supplies are swept away by a flood and they are forced to survive. While Oscar and Felix are out roughing it, however, the rest of their families end up making the best of their situation.
  • Impact Silhouette: Oscar and Felix make holes in the snow after falling off a cliff. Due to Rule of Funny, Oscar's hole is shaped like a snow angel and Felix's is shaped like a thin woman.
  • Terror-dactyl: Oscar and Felix are taken into a pterodactyl nest, but the trope is Subverted when the creature starts treating them like her children and feeding them grubs. Felix even goes back to her nest by the end of the episode.
