In the lead-up to holiday season, Adam joins the Could 9 team as a temp worker, which causes tension between him and Amy. Glenn hires the store Santa, while Jonah and Garrett run a betting pool to see which temp worker will quit first.

- Digging Yourself Deeper: Glenn accidentally points out that Amy and Adam's marriage isn't ideal, and accidentally monologues about their Dead Sparks.
- Disposable Intern: Exploited — the employees know the temps are likely to quit, and take bets on who will quit next.
- Embarrassing Nickname: "Bean" is one of Adam's for Amy, which he explains to the other employeesnote , to her embarrassment.
- Mall Santa: Glenn tests out a slew of pudgy older men for the role of the Cloud 9 Santa.
- One-Steve Limit: Glenn hires a black guy named Todd, and tries to call him "Black Todd" to avoid confusion with the Todd they already have. After he protests, the previous Todd is now know as "White Todd".
