Sofia's Buttercup troop is going on a hike through the Peppertree Forest, but Roland is worried that his daughter will hurt herself out there, so he orders Baileywick to be her royal escort. While Baileywick does a good job at keeping Sofia safe, his efforts keep her from earning any badges. It's not until he himself gets into a situation that Sofia has to help him.
Tropes
- An Aesop: A job well done only counts when someone does it themselves.
- Given Name Reveal: It's revealed Ruby's last name is Hanshaw.
- Helicopter Parents: Roland isn't willing to let Sofia get even one scratch when hiking through the Peppertree Forest, so he assigns Baileywick to watch over her, to her frustration.
- Instantly Proven Wrong: When Baileywick shows up as Sofia's royal escort, he tells Mrs. Hanshaw that as a Groundhog Scout, he's "quite at home in the wild". He then freaks out the moment a butterfly lands on his nose.
- Irony: Baileywick tries to save Sofia from touching the Meddlesome Myrtle by picking some flowers for her, but the flowers he picked actually turn out to be Meddlesome Myrtle.
