Book 1 - The Tub of Happiness: Diplomatic Pouch of Doom
The mercenaries take a job to escort a bio-engineered Creeth diplomat. Things get complicated when it turns out he's also a bio-engineered bomb.
- Action Bomb: Ch'vorthq was designed as an unknowing and unwilling bomb. After the doctor gives him an implant to control it, he learns to detonate pieces of himself when necessary.
- Ambadassador: Ch'vorthq was designed as a weapon, but he also has extensive diplomatic training. When the mercenaries keep him from exploding, he is able to broker the peace even though he was supposed to be used to just kill everyone there.
- The Unpronounceable: Ch'vorthq, the diplomat.Footnote: Pronunciation note: Ambassador Ch'vorthq's name is pronounced as follows: start with the hard "CH" as in "china," rather than the soft "CH" from "chevrolet." Now make the sound of an expensive piece of china being struck by a moving chevrolet—that noise is represented with the apostrophe. The rest is easy. Say "vorthq" with the soft "th" from the word "the" and a "q" like in "qetzlcouatl."
