- Call-Back: The kids don't know why the Foot suddenly revoked the bounty, but they're not complaining.
- Genre Savvy: When Donnie is stumped as to what the Kraang are up to, his siblings ask Mikey who is shown to have a good track record with Kraang-related stuff. He guesses "conference call" and he guessed right.
- Internal Reveal: Casey realizes that the encounter with Ms. Campbell wasn't a dream.
- Spotting the Thread: When April seemingly doesn't recognize Casey with his mask on, this is when he realised the Kraang swapped her out with a clone.
- Talking Is a Free Action: Subverted. When the Kraang storm Kurtzmann's apartment, Miwa shurikens one of the Kraang while they talk in that prolonged way that they do.
- Twin Threesome Fantasy: Implied. When the kids uncover a room full of April clones, Casey jokingly asks if it gives Donnie any "ideas." Knowing what he's alluding to, it earns a whack on the head from Donnie and a slap from Miwa.Miwa: April wasn't here to do it herself.
