The NEW Smash Bros for Nintendo Switch just got announced... and a lot of people want to be on the roster. What are they willing to do to get in?
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has just been announced, and so the SMG4 cast who aren't already in Smash participate in trials to hopefully join the new game.
  • Bank Robbery: Bob gets teleported away while he's in the middle of one, leaving his lone gun and the confused bankteller behind.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Inverted a few times, where characters cheat to gain a good advantage.
    • Fishy Boopkins is too weak to hit the sandbag, so he calls his dad to hit it for him. Joe ends up hitting the sandbag so far the distance meter breaks.
    • Meggy can't jump high enough to reach the platforms for her parkouring challenge, so Mario throws her across each platform. Master Hand even lampshades this.
Master Hand: ...This is technically illegal...but I'll allow it.
  • Covers Always Lie: The video's tagline states that "a lot of people want to be on the roster.", but everyone who participates in a trial was teleported in without prior knowledge or consent.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Bob actually performs really well during his trial and defeats the Fighting Polygon Team easily, until one member abuses a Gust Bellow.
  • Groin Attack: Bob uses his "final smash" when in Blade Lock with a Fighting Polygon Team member: Kicking them in the groin.
  • Kaiju: Bowser turns into Giga Bowser for Toad's trial.
  • Mech vs. Beast: Toad's trial consists of him fighting in a mushroom mech against Giga Bowser.
  • Readings Blew Up the Scale: During Boopkins's home run contest trial, Joe hits the sandbag and sends it flying so far that the distance meter breaks.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: At the end of the video it's revealed that the new fighters were being recruited for merely a port of Smash 4 on Switch. They're unamused, to say the least.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: By being thrown by Mario, Meggy manages to board all the platforms and thus pass the trial, but all that head trauma causes her to pass out shortly after winning.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Saiko was among the people shown teleported in to have a trial at the beginning of the episode, but her trial is never shown and she isn't among the passers shown at the end.
