Reptar's Revenge

The families go on a trip to an amusement park.

"Fluffy Vs. Spike" provides examples of:

  • An Aesop: Innocent until proven guilty
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Spike is Fluffy's scapegoat the entire episode...until she threatens Tommy. At which point Spike angrily jumps over his pen and flips her to the other side of the room.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Fluffy takes after her owner, acting like an innocent kitten around the adults, but taking delight into getting Spike into trouble.
  • Cats Are Mean: Fluffy, which gets her on Spike's bad side.
  • Clear Their Name: When Spike gets blamed for things that Fluffy did, It's up to Tommy, Phil, and Lil to prove Spike's innocence, which is difficult for them, since they can't talk to adults.
  • Female Feline, Male Mutt: Fluffy and Spike, respectively.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Fluffy, Angelica's Right-Hand Cat.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Fluffy has them, much like her owner.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After blaming Fluffy's mess on Spike and getting him in trouble, Angelica and Fluffy are blamed for the mess after Spike rescues Tommy. Didi realizes her mistake and Drew takes Angelica home for an implied punishment.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Angelica wears a white dress in this episode, as opposed to her normal purple one.
  • Papa Wolf: Spike to Tommy. One warning swipe at him from Fluffy, and Spike flings that bad cat halfway across the room to land on the bookcase in retaliation for threatening his boy.
  • The Scapegoat: Angelica blames Spike for things that Fluffy did.
  • Troublemaking New Pet: Throughout the episode, Fluffy wrecks the house and Angelica blames it on Spike.

"Reptar's Revenge" provides examples of:

  • Afraid of Clowns: Didi is shown to have a fear of clowns in this episode when a clown honks a horn at her. She initially tries to deny it when Stu asks her about it.
  • An Aesop:
    • Don’t take your kids to places that are dangerous to them.
    • Never take anything from strangers.
    • Don't accept rides and ride in cars with strangers
    • Trust your instincts. If you see something, then you should say something.
  • Asinine Alternate Activity: Angelica wants to ride a Gravitron-style ride called the Nause-O-Whirl. Didi thinks that the ride is too intense for Angelica, and suggests that Angelica ride the Snail Adventure ride instead. On the Snail Adventure ride, the children riding the bouncy snails look very bored, and Angelica screams to ride the whirl. When Stu and Didi let Angelica go on the Nause-O-Whirl, it turns out to be too intense for her to handle, made even worse by I Can't Hear You below.
  • Audience Surrogate: When Angelica enters the swan boat ride and sees Stu and Didi exchanging romantic words with each other, she is disgusted.
  • Big "NO!": The Man in the Reptar costume says this once the tray full of cereal boxes he and Angelica were fighting over falls in the water in the tunnel of love.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Discussed; when the man dressed as Reptar is being harassed by his boss and brother-in-law, the babies can only see a bad man picking on Reptar and wonder why Reptar doesn't just eat the guy. Amusingly as it turns out, this was a case even in real circumstances - the guy goes nuts on his boss after he fires him.
  • Centrifugal Farce: Angelica gets on the Nause-O-Whirl. It turns out to be a very high-speed one, and when Stu tries to get Larry to shut it off, he misunderstands and turns it up to eleven. When Angelica gets off, and Didi asks if she's alright, she responds, "I think so, Uncle Stu."
  • The Dog Bites Back: After the Reptar vendor is finally fired by his boss, he finally snaps and goes on a feral rampage, terrifying the jerk. The babies come to the conclusion that someone made Reptar very mad.
"Reptar": FIRED?! You can't fire me! Me Reptar! RAAGGGHHHHHH!! *chases his boss*
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: In this episode, it's actually Didi who was scared of clowns. Although Chuckie's fear of them didn't pop up until around the second season, in a previous episode, "The Trial", Chuckie admitted that he thought Tommy's clown lamp was scary, and he even thought about breaking it, but didn't out of respect for Tommy.
  • Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: The owner of the carnival, who yells at the guy in the Reptar costume and threatens to fire him if he messes up, is shown to have a cigar hanging from his mouth.
  • Grandparental Obliviousness: Lou takes the kids on a boat ride, and falls asleep in the middle of telling them a story, allowing them to escape. They have an adventure, but get back just before Lou wakes up.
  • I Can't Hear You: When Stu tries to tell Larry to shut off the Nause-O-Whirl when it turns out to be too intense for Angelica to handle, he tells her, "Stop it! She's gonna be sick!". Larry mishears and says, "Give it a kick? You got it, dude!", before turning the Nause-O-Whirl up to eleven.
  • "King Kong" Climb: The man in the Reptar costume goes on a rampage after being fired; he climbs an Empire State Building model on the miniature golf course while the other workers try to get him down.
  • Limited Wardrobe: Besides wearing a red t-shirt in this episode, as opposed to the light blue one he normally wears, Tommy also wears a pair of blue overalls and a pair of brown shoes.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: Larry gets a job operating the Nause-O-Whirl in this episode.
  • Senior Sleep-Cycle: Lou takes himself and the kids on a boat ride, and falls asleep in the middle of telling them a story, allowing them to escape. Not only that, but the owner of the boat ride also falls asleep.
  • Swan Boats: Stu and Didi wind up going on the Tunnel of Love, which has boats like these.
  • Tunnel of Love: Stu and Didi ride one of these as the man in the Reptar costume chases Angelica through it.
