General McCallister infiltrates the school as a lunch lady. David spies on Max and Sahar through the security cameras and learns of Baby. After briefly fighting with his growing humanity, Harry decides to kidnap Sahar to lure out Baby, who willingly goes with Harry as she also wishes to find the child. Meanwhile, Baby finds Max, who tries to hold onto him until he can contact Sahar.
David watches Max and Baby meet, running facial recognition to identify him as the missing Bobby, and concludes he is the alien. Max takes Baby home but he escapes the room and flees into the woods. A recording of Sahar lures him into the RV and he is taken away by helicopter before Harry and Sahar can reach it.
The people of Patience unite in protest of Ben's proposed plan for a resort. D'Arcy raises a fuss and points out the downsides of having a resort in town. Later, she and the girls invite Kate for a girls' night and shows her the parts of Patience that would be lost if they built the resort. They persuade her to talk Ben out of building it.
The next day Asta visits Harry after his gibberish 911 text. She discovers Goliath's art book in his mail.
60 years in the future an elderly looks over the destroyed remains of the world from his cabin. 300 years in the future he sets out, having discarded his human form and his cabin burns behind him. He finds birds flying out of a time portal in the air. 500 years he finds another time portal and travels back in time to a man who falls and hits his head on a rock.
Looking at Goliath's paintings, they find a picture of the day Harry fought Jimmy. They realize Goliath was Harry.
Tropes
- Bad Future: Flash Forward shows an elderly Harry living After the End where the world is a barren wasteland and eventually having to discard his human form after it grew too old.
- Didn't Think This Through:
- Fearing he is becoming more human, Harry decides to live in his true form up in the mountains. It wasn't until after he got there that he realized there is no food up there and he was already hungry. He decides to live in the cabin instead but doesn't consider it wasn't built for his much taller alien form.
- His plot to kidnap Sahar also wasn't well thought out, as he left his kidnapping supplies in the truck.
- Halloween Episode: It takes place on Halloween. Harry loves Halloween. Max dresses as Frankenstein's monster while his parents dress as Sonny and Cher. Ellen dressed as Ben to mock him.
- Police State: Sheriff Mike's argument for the resort is that they would be able to afford 24-hour surveillance on every civilian. Ben says they aren't going to because they aren't a police state but Mike says not yet.
- Poor Communication Kills: Max is unable to contact Sahar after Baby finds him. Baby eventually runs away and is captured by The Men in Black who lure him in with a recording of Sahar calling for him.
- Portal to the Past: Future Harry finds seagulls flying out of a portal 300 years in the future, only to burst into flames once they leave its effects. He spends another 200 years tracking down another to send him back in time to before the world was destroyed.
- Skewed Priorities: After Baby is kidnapped Harry stops for pizza and asks Asta if she wants some in a garbled text.
- Set Right What Once Went Wrong: Upon discovering a time portal, future Harry looks for more so he can go back and prevent the destruction of the world.
- Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Given that Harry needs Baby to find out how to prevent the Bad Future, David really screwed up by helping capture him.
- Walking the Earth: Once Harry's human body fails him, he starts traveling the burned out remains of the Earth, looking for some way to save it.
- Wham Episode:
- The Men in Black capture Baby.
- Goliath was Harry, having traveled back in time 500 years after Earth was reduced to a burning hellscape.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Abigail is rightly pissed off at Sheriff Mike for arresting her and causing her to lose her house. His poorly thought out non-apology after he realizes she is innocent didn't help matters.
