Tropes

  • The Bus Came Back: The Battle Creak Zealots return as the Blues and Reds' mooks.
  • Continuity Cavalcade: Doc's rant at the Reds and Blues for everything they have done to him is filled with references to previous events in the series. He mentions how they used him as a bargaining chip in Blood Gulch before they all got tired of him and sent him away to live in a cave, which also indirectly led to him being possessed by Omega and becoming O'Malley, how Simmons left him to the mercy of The Meta by abandoning him while hardly trying to save him, how everyone abandoned him behind in Valhalla even after he helped inspire them all, and finally how nobody even noticed he was gone when he was accidentally sucked into another dimension where he almost lost his mind on Chorus.
  • Fake Defector: Simmons tries to be this, but as he's explaining it to Tucker, Caboose lets the whole thing out of the bag.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: Sarge willingly joins the Blues and Reds because he's that desperate for a war to fight. Doc also joins them due to the Reds and Blues constantly mistreating him.
  • Mistreatment-Induced Betrayal: Doc's reason for joining the Blues and Reds against the Reds and Blues. He rants about all the abuse and disrespect he has gone through with them and basically treat him like a "leper", and thinks that spending some time in the brig will teach them to respect him.
  • What Is Evil?: Parodied. When Tucker asks "Are you evil?" and Temple responds, "That's just a matter of perspective," Tucker gloats that's exactly what bad guys say.
  • You and What Army?: Tucker asks this to Temple. Cue the Zealots. Given it's happened before, Simmons points out there always seem to be an army.
