Recap / Power Rangers Dino Fury Episode Six Superstition Strikes

Go To

Amelia thinks she is jinxed when confronting the Sporix, but when the monsters raid the base, she learn what luck really is...

In General:

  • An Aesop: Luck is not based on superstition, it is based on how you expect things to happen whether negative or positive.
  • Disaster Dominoes: A rare case that works for the Rangers. When Amelia winds up for a powerful attack, she accidentally hits a pipe, causing it to hit a crane that swings around and hits a series of steel walls that fall, forcing a dump truck to go down a ramp and hit a building, which leads into debris flying out and clogging Smashstone's blaster.
  • Jerkass Ball: While Ollie has been dismissive of Amelia's beliefs before, this episode cranks it up to unlikable levels where he continually mocks her for believing in bad luck and does nothing to comfort her. That said, he was not too much of an asshole to help her out in fights.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After continually mocking Amelia and her grandfather for believing in superstitions, Ollie gets bad luck of his own after breaking a mirror by having a bucket fall on his head, hit by a van door, fall into a bundle of hoses, and falling into a baby carriage as it speeds towards a pallet of boxes.
  • Rube Goldberg Device: A megazord-sized one serendipitously/coincidentally appears in the megazord battle against Smashstone.
  • Superstition Episode: Part of the episode's conflict is based on some old superstitious warnings like walking under a ladder causes a plague of bad luck. Amelia and her Pop-Pop are firm believers in this, which Ollie mocks them for.
  • Unluckily Lucky: As everyone notes at the end, Amelia's supposed bad luck (getting her morpher trashed and stolen by Mucus) also means she's in the right place to thwart it at the same time.
