The Rising Volt Tacklers decide to do a picnic before setting off for Galar. During the picnic, Liko attempts to give Dot the same experience as she asked Murdock for his assistances. Meanwhile, Roy encounters a wild Wattrel and tries to be friends with it. Also, Spinel begins his attack on the Rising Volt Tacklers in order to take Liko's pendant.

This episode contains examples of the following tropes:

  • The Alleged Car: The Brave Olivine isn't able to take off due to needing a complete system reboot and update. Orla reveals that the ship actually used to be Ludlow's fishing boat, but it was Friede's idea to convert it into an airship. When the episode ends, interference from Spinel's Magneton army causes the update to fail, threatening to permanently ground the ship.
  • As You Know: Given the length of time between Part 1 and Part 2 on Netflix, this episode coincidentally has them.
  • Dagwood Sandwich: Roy tries to make his sandwich into one of these, similar to Alex's cooking. It goes about as well as you expect.
  • Kick the Dog: Roy tries splitting a sandwich between Fuecoco and the wild Wattrel, which the former agrees to, but the latter just eats both halves and leaves the Fire Croc hungry.
  • Mythology Gag: The entirety of the picnic is a near-recreation of the mechanic in the games, complete with the same ingredients, and the Pokémon playing with bouncy balls (or Roy's old Poké Ball) as they run around and have fun.
  • Real Men Eat Meat: Friede's sandwich is made entirely of meat. Orla and Mollie both give him a dirty look for not eating any veggies in it. Funny enough, Cap's sandwich is made up of the same things.
  • Running Gag: Liko sees a picture of Dot in a Nidothing costume, and again assumes that Dot's just wearing one because she's a big Nidothing fan. Friede tries to tell Liko the truth, but Murdock convinces him to let Dot say something when she's ready.
  • Sapient Eat Sapient: Captain Pikachu's sandwich is made up of a similar composition to his trainer's—all meat. But since there aren't any other animals in the Pokémon universe (Early-Installment Weirdness aside), and the only fresh meat source would be actual Pokémon...
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Unlike in shows such as Looney Tunes or Garfield and Friends, where the trope would be pulled off perfectly, Roy's attempts at making a Dagwood Sandwich results in the entire thing falling apart the moment he tries to take a bite out of it.
  • Writer's Block: Or Streamer's Block in this case. Dot is trying to come up with a new Nidothing video, but she just doesn't feel all that inspired. When Liko and Murdock put together a surprise picnic for her and Ludlow, she becomes inspired with her next video.
