"So, Chloé Bourgeois, you still think my power is utterly ridiculous?"

"Stormy Weather, people have told you that you'll never change — well, they're right. People don't change, they grow. This time, your powers will be even stronger, as you know them well. Show them how you're able to control all the forces of nature!"
Hawk Moth

Ladybug and Cat Noir once again face Stormy Weather. To stop her, the heroes will need to not get cold feet! Meanwhile, everyone reflects on the time they spent saving their city or trying to awaken a lost love.

Tropes:

  • Apocalypse How: Stormy Weather sends the entire planet off-orbit, which could have eventually resulted in a Class 6 had the heroes not defeated her.
  • Artistic License – Physics: The size of the volcano Stormy Weather creates - taking up a sizable chunk of Paris - is nowhere near large enough to produce the kind of thrust needed to actually knock the planet out of orbit.
  • Blatant Lies: Marinette's lie that all the pictures of Adrien in her room are because she is "really into fashion" and that she is "so not into" him is believed by Adrien, damaging her chances with him.
  • Call-Back:
    • Aurore is akumatized in the elevator of the TVi studio, the same place she was akumatized the first time.
    • Nathalie appears to still be suffering the negative effects of using the Peacock Miraculous.
    • Chloé attempts to signal Ladybug and Cat Noir using her 'Bee Signal' like she did in "Catalyst: Heroes Day Part 1".
  • Came Back Strong: Stormy Weather is brought back stronger than the first time she was akumatized, and shows it off by creating a giant volcano out of nowhere generating enough force to push the Earth out of orbit.
  • Character Development: Although Chloé asserts that people can't really change (and Hawk Moth uses this belief to empower Aurore again), much of the Clip Show flashbacks highlight how the characters have developed.
  • Clip Show: The first episode to contains flashbacks from Seasons 1 & 2, and even one scene from Chrismaster.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: When confronted with Stormy Weather, Chloé smugly proclaims she was right about Aurore. Stormy Weather responds by freezing her and Sabrina alive, possibly killing both until Ladybug uses her World-Healing Wave.
  • Dramatic Irony:
    • When talking about his father's Pet the Dog moments, Adrien mentions the scarf he got for his birthday. While Adrien still believes it came from Gabriel, viewers who saw "The Bubbler" will know it actually came from Marinette.
    • When Adrien compares Marinette's note to the unsigned Valentine he received, he notes how similar they are. He almost figures out that Marinette was the one who sent it, but then remembers her frequent denials of liking him that way.
  • Foreshadowing: Gabriel Agreste writes a letter to Ms. Tsurugi (Kagami's mother). Along with her appearance in "Backwarder" it seems big developments are being set up for her.
  • Happy Dance: Etta and Ella start dancing after Stormy Weather's defeat.
  • Hypocrite: Chloé brings up Stormy Weather while mocking Aurore, even saying "once a villain, always a villain". Chloé herself has been akumatized three times into two different villains, and is the instigator of countless more.
  • Idiot Ball: Chloé carries a big one in this episode when she taunts Aurore about her Akumatization. Even ignoring the fact that about 90% of the cast including Chloé herself have all been Akumatized at one point or another, as a Miraculous holder she should probably know better than to pointlessly antagonize people at risk of it. Even worse, she is still taunting Stormy Weather when she comes after her and immediately ends up frozen. Aesop Amnesia or Status Quo Is God seems to be in effect here, considering this very episode flashes back to her more nuanced and heroic portrayal in the previous season.
  • Ignored Enamored Underling: This episode confirms that Nathalie does indeed have romantic feelings for Gabriel, as the fanbase had suspected.
  • Ignored Epiphany:
    • Hawk Moth briefly wonders if his activities are becoming too risky, recalling the incident where Adrien leapt off a building in "Gorizilla". He then determines that he has to succeed and creates the Monster of the Week du jour.
    • It's implied Adrien did figure it out that Marinette wrote the unsigned Valentine but just can't bring himself to believe it yet, partly due to his low self-esteem (how unloved he feels all the time due to his neglectful father), his remembering Marinette's emphatic denials that she likes him, Marinette's current note calling him "your friend,", and his belief that she likes Luka (whom he remembers her going on a date with in "Frozer").
  • Ironic Echo Cut: Chloé claims "There's no one nicer than me" which is followed by a montage of her Kick the Dog moments.
  • Irony: Alya and Nino realize that it if wasn't for Hawk Moth's activities, they would never have become a couple due to Ladybug throwing them in a cage during the events of "Animan".
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: For the first time, Nathalie's inner thoughts are shared. She loves Gabriel, but she is willing to help him get his wife back from "endless sleep."
  • Just Friends: Marinette decides by the end of the episode that she really is happy just being Adrien's friend for now (a huge step up from previous episodes, where she was miserable at the prospect), whereas Adrien looks a little wistful and disappointed when he sees Marinette use the same "Just Friends" line he always used on her (after he pieces together that she might have written the Valentine).
  • Metaphorgotten: Plagg compares Gabriel to a kind of cheese that has a really hard and tough rind, but once you manage to get through it, you discover that the inside is quite soft... or possibly a bit rotten. Although, this metaphor is more accurate than he realizes.
  • Noodle Implements: Stormy Weather is somehow beaten by a pencil and a copy machine.
  • Not Me This Time: At Stormy Weather's first world cracking sound, Plagg denies any involvement, stating he hasn't used his Cataclysm.
  • Oblivious to Love: Adrien's obliviousness hits astonishing new levels when he notices that the note Marinette left on his textbook and the Valentine's Day card he received back in "Dark Cupid" have the same handwriting. He briefly considers that it could be from Marinette, but then remembers her (utterly unconvincing) explanation from "Troublemaker" of why her room is filled with posters of him and decides that she doesn't like him that way after all, so it must just be a coincidence that the handwriting looks similar.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: How Stormy Weather is beaten this time isn't shown, only vaguely described by a newscaster on the scene.
  • Planetary Relocation: Stormy Weather uses her Weather Manipulation powers to create a super large volcano in Paris that works as a jet engine to push Earth further away from the sun, with the ultimate goal of freezing all life on the planet.
  • Recap Episode: Most of this episode is recapping important scenes from Season 1 & 2.
  • Red Sky, Take Warning: The sky turns red once Stormy Weather shows up.
  • Self-Fulfilling Prophecy: Chloé mockingly warns Sabrina not to make Aurore mad or she'll turn into Stormy Weather and "rain on" them. To the surprise of no one (except Chloé) she does worse and freezes them in a block of ice.
  • A Taste of Their Own Medicine: Downplayed. Adrien calling Marinette "just a friend" all series despite her obvious feelings for him comes back to bite him when Marinette uses the "friend" line back on him, just as he starts to develop feelings for her too.
  • Taking the Bullet: Subverted when Stormy Weather comes for Chloé's head. Sabrina tries to jump in the way of her attack, but accomplishes nothing except getting the both of them frozen.
  • Wipe That Smile Off Your Face: Nooroo loses his mouth when his attempt to convince Gabriel that he shouldn't continue down his current path as it could result in him losing Adrien angers Gabriel.
