Feeling Oppressed by Their Existence: When Marshall Anders explains that he's searching for a runaway Indian named Jack Lame Horse andbthe Ingalls ask him what crimes this man commited, Anders doesn't cite any of them and merely says "he got born", as if that explained everything.
Snowed-In: The Ingalls staying at an abandoned cabin after being caught in a snowstorm, until the weather clears.
What You Are in the Dark: After being captured by Marshall Anders, Jack Lame Horse releases himself while he and everyone else was asleep, and grabs a gun a nd a knife. He could have shot the Marshall while he was asleep but runs away withour harming him or anyone else. And later, he comes back with the deer Charles had shot, knowing that without food, the Ingalls family and Anders wouldn't survive the snowstorm.
After Marshall Anders shoots Jack Lame Horse, he's told that the Indian only returned to bring him the deer Charles had killed to keep them from starving. The Ingalls nurse Jack Lame Horse back to health and after the snow is down, Anders' men show up, and Anders could inform them that the runaway Indian was inside, and in no condition to resist arrest. Instead, he claims that he hasn't seen Jack Lame Horse and that he probably already returned to the reservation, and leaves without letting them know about the Indian hidden inside the shack.
You Look Familiar: Jack Ging, who plays Marshall Anders, would return years later in season 9's "May I Have This Dance?", as the father of Willie's eventual wife, Rachel Brown.
