A case currently on trial requires the testimony of Olivia Benson, who is still undercover as ecologist/ecoterrorist Persephone James in Oregon. As such, Novak must find her and bring her back to New York in time for the trial.
This episode provides examples of:
- Accidental Misnaming: Olivia's alias, Persephone James, is mispronounced
- The Bus Came Back: Olivia finally reappears after last appearing in the season premiere.
- A Day in the Limelight: Olivia is the focus of this episode.
- Event Title: Much of the title is about Olivia going undercover.
- Fiery Redhead: Hope, the closest acquaintance of Olivia among the activists, is very opinionated.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: When Novak asks where exactly is Olivia, Munch claims she's somewhere having his love child. This is an in-joke on Mariska Hargitay's pregnancy.
- Remember the New Guy?: Benson and Stabler apparently handled the case of the Victim of the Week, with the court requiring Olivia's testimony being a plot point. Said victim never appeared in previous episodes.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Short in time to have Olivia be on the stand but couldn't since she's on a top-secret mission with the FBI, Casey pressures Huang for help.
- Secret Secret-Keeper: Da Chief of Oregon's police already figured out that Olivia is a cop but didn't say anything until she's officially outed.
- Ship Tease: An unconscious Olivia is seen dreaming and murmuring about Eliot.
- Shipper on Deck: Hope is beside Olivia when she's dreaming and murmuring Eliot. Although she doesn't know who Eliot is, she repeatedly teases Olivia about him.
