After Pin's yet another invention malfunctions, he records an audio diary where he states his progress, all the while shaming himself for ruining his own work. When Wally comes to Pin so he can fix his pen, he listens to one of Pin's audios and finds them depressing.
Pin then approaches Wally with an idea to edit his audio diary since Pin is not good with words. While editing the diary, Wally has troubles with certain words and whether to deem them as implements or insults. Asking Pin fails since he's having a nightmare in which his own tape recorder insults him for filling it with junk. Rosa then comes over and listens to Pin's diary as well, coming to the conclusion that he doesn't know how to keep a diary, and writes an example of how one should, which Wally dislikes.
While Rosa asks for other people's opinion on her diary keeping, Pin invents a device which converts his tapes to text for Wally to edit. It proves difficult since the robot converts tapes with an impossibly fast pace, and later short circuits due to being overworked, burning everything down. Rosa then returns and says that her diary is filled with good mood, making Pin agree that he should keep the mean stuff out of his entries.
