Recap / Jo Jos Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood Youth With Dio

Go To

Jonathan reveals to Dio that he has found an antidote for the poison and administered it to George, who apologizes for having to hand Dio over to the police. Dio plays for time, feigning remorse for his actions and claiming his actions were born out of desperation due to being born poor, but Speedwagon appears from the shadows, having followed Jonathan back to the mansion. He warns him not to trust Dio, and that his actions were done out of malice; He reveals that not only has he found Wang Chan, but has also brought George and the police to arrest him; Heartbroken that Dio broke his trust, George leaves to retire to bed, not wishing to see his child incarcerated.

Dio requests that Jonathan be the one who handcuffs him. However, as Jonathan does so, Dio muses how his life as a human was weak and a failure. Revealing himself to be brandishing both a knife and the Stone Mask, Dio attempts to kill Jonathan, but George intervenes and takes the knife for his son. Wiping George's blood onto the Mask, Dio puts it on, cackling maniacally as its tendrils pierce him before he is blown out the window by police gunfire. The Inspector takes responsibility for George's murder - shortly after George and an infant Jonathan were rescued, the former discovered that Dario had stolen his wife's wedding ring and deduced his true reasons for rescuing the two, but chose to cover for Dario out of kindness. Before he dies, George tells Jonathan to forgive Dio for his actions and apologizes for mistreating him throughout their childhood, admitting he had much higher expectations for Jonathan, before passing in his son's arms.

However, Speedwagon discovers that Dio's body is missing; Having successfully transformed into a vampire, he attacks them, slaughtering the policemen and sucking the blood of one. Speedwagon is injured after being hit by a flying body, leaving Jonathan to defend himself using a spear from a suit of armour; However, Dio takes the spear head-on, breaks it, and impales Jonathan in the shoulder. Jonathan manages to disappear alongside Speedwagon, with Dio tracing Jonathan to behind a curtain using his blood trail; However, Jonathan uses a lantern to light the curtain on fire, igniting Dio and quickly engulfing the entire mansion in flames. However, while Dio is badly wounded by the flames, his healing factor is able to cancel out the injuries. Jonathan lures Dio away from Speedwagon by stabbing a sword into the ground and jumping off, reaching the second floor, as the vampire gives chase up the wall.

On the roof, Jonathan tackles Dio back into the mansion, intending to cremate him now that the mansion is completely on fire and sacrifice himself. However, Dio frees himself from Jonathan's grip and leaves him to fall to his death; Narrowly surviving by using the broken spearhead to flip back up, he pulls Dio down once again. Despite both his arms being broken, Jonathan uses the last of his strength to kick against the wall, changing their trajectory so that Dio is impaled on the Statue of the Goddess of Love in the main hall, trapping him. Jonathan is blown out of the mansion by an explosion and rescued by Speedwagon, who declares his victory, while Dio is left to burn with the mansion.

The next day, after the flames die down and the mansion is reduced to rubble, Wang Chan returns to scavenge for valuables. He finds the Stone Mask and smiles in glee, only for a hand to burst out from the rubble and suck his blood dry; It is Dio, who managed to barely survive the inferno.
