When a bumblebee gets trapped inside Big Jake, he doesn't feel well and cancels his plans with Jay Jay. Hurt, Jay Jay thinks Big Jake doesn't like him anymore and wonders what he did to make Big Jake upset. After Brenda Blue discovers what is really wrong with Big Jake, Jay Jay learns that just because someone is sick and can't spend time with you, it doesn't mean they don't like you.
"Catch The Buzz" provides examples of:

- Just because someone isn’t feeling well doesn’t mean they don’t like you anymore.
- Don't jump to conclusions until you gather all the information first.
- Big "WHAT?!": Tracy and Herky shout this in unison when Jay Jay announces Big Jake doesn't like him anymore. Later, Jay Jay himself says this after Tracy willingly agrees with him.
- Rule of Three: Big Jake's flight took him over Tarrytown, through Frosty Pines, and finally over Smiling Meadow. The last of these is where he caught the buzz.
- Title Drop: Tracy says "Big Jake didn't catch the buzz here" when checking Big Jake's flight over Tarrytown.
