Recap / F Is For Family S 2 E 2 A Girl Named Sue

Go To

Frank still has problems finding a job, Sue decides she needs to step up as the breadwinner, and Kevin and Bill's sibling rivalry gets more heated.

Tropes:

  • Both Sides Have a Point: Bob Pogo may be a Fat Bastard, but Frank did leave him out in the cold to possibly die of hypothermia, so Frank has no right to expect to be rehired. On the flip-side though, Frank does has every right to be angry at Pogo for letting him get fired on Christmas Eve since he has a family to provide for.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: After blowing his chances of getting rehired at Mohican Airways, Frank goes out drinking with Rosie.
  • Given Name Reveal: Rosie's first name is revealed to be Chauncey.
  • Humiliation Conga: Pogo says that he suffered from this after Frank locked him in his car at the end of the first season. He was stuck there for 16 hours unable to reach his keys on the floor due to being too fat to reach them, he had to soil himself for warmth, resulting in his car seats being crusted with feces (to the point where Pogo says that he must drive with the windows down due to the unbearable smell), he had gotten frostbite on his fingers and he had the Fire Department cut him out of his car with his own sons watching him.
  • Poor Communication Kills: When Frank loses it at Bob by believing that he’s been strung along just to help with Scoop for a short amount of time, Pogo says that in exchange for Frank’s assistance, he would’ve recommended Frank to another airport. Frank lampshades the trope by saying that Pogo could've just opened with that when he first arrived at his office, only for Pogo to respond that he was getting to it.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Frank yells at Bob Pogo for not giving him his job back. Bob Pogo then explains that he was going to recommend Frank to other airports, but has changed his mind due to Frank's outburst.
