When Emile starts acting out of character, the Halidom expresses concern and sends Edward, Pia, and Zodiark to investigate.
This event contains examples of:
- Epic Fail:
- Despite the amount of training Edward gives them, Pia and Zodiark do horribly during the preliminaries to where they run the risk of getting kicked out as evident in the first round where Zodiark was too gruff and serving things unsuitable for humans while Pia was too polite and nervous. They probably would have been eliminated if Imperial soldiers hadn't arrived to take Emile back.
- The Adorbs Devotion Beam that Edward teaches Zodiark and Pia requires love for one's master. While Pia manages to deliver a weak one, Zodiark delivers the complete opposite of the beam.
- Gameplay and Story Segregation: in the cutscenes of the event, Emile is presented in his old attire. For the boss fight against him, he is in his Gala attire.
- Know When to Fold 'Em: Once everything is cleared up and the trio prepare to take their leave, the head butler expresses intent to stop them from leaving with Emile being too bummed out to care to stop him. In response, Edward tells Zodiark and Pia to turn tail and run.
- Out-of-Character Alert: The event begins when Saboa tells Euden and Ranzal about Emile acting weird. At first, they think Emile is just being moody as usual until Saboa tells them that Emile said they shouldn't worry about him, which they realize is something he would never say.
- Poor Communication Kills: The end reveals that Emile's sudden politeness is because of him going over books on how to get people to like him better. If he had at least told Saboa his plan, it would have kept Zodiark, Pia, and Edward from accidentally ruining it thinking he was possessed. On top of that, the ghosts haunting Emile thought he was being friendly to them when he doesn't even see them.
- Trap Door: Servant applicants in Emiles manor are removed in such a way if they lose all their points during inspection.Preliminary Applicant: Ahhh! Where does this even go...
