Recap / Dinotrux S 01 E 03 Garage

Go To

Work begins on the Trux Garage, but tensions are high as the Dinotrux are having trouble working together without fighting. Meanwhile, D-Structs needs some repair work and decides to recruit a Scraptool named Skrap-It as his ally, and together the two of them plan to break up the Dinotrux before they can complete their garage.

  • Bond One-Liner: After Skya defeats Dozer, Ton-Ton congratulates her, thinking that she is on his site. Then Skya drives into him and delivers "I'm not a "dude" either.".
  • Card-Carrying Villain: D-Structs says that Skrap-It is a greedy little creature, after he says that he will fix him only if he will give him something in return. Skrap-It takes it as compliment.
  • Comically Missing the Point: When Dozer accuses her of destroying his mound, Skya blames Ton-Ton who then blames Dozer, despite the fact that it was his mound.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Skrap-It is introduced finding a piece of scrap, who ends up knocking him off after he tried to get it out of the pile of rocks. After that, he greedily moves it into his scrap collection, and later gets scared when D-Structs approaches him.
  • Feud Episode
  • From Bad to Worse:
    • After Ton-Ton accidentally destroys the first wall of the garage which results in the gang starting to argue with each other, their argument is overheard by Skrap-It who tells everything to D-Structs who gets the idea to spread discord among them.
    • When D-Structs destroys Dozer's mound, it results in Dozer, Skya, and Ton-Ton begin accusing each other of doing it. Then he destroys teh garage wall which results in Ty thinking that it was Dozer's fault, who in turn blames Ton-Ton. When Ton-Ton accuses Dozer of not being careful with his rocks, Dozer sarcastically mocks him, ending the statement with the word "dude". This ends up being too much for Ton-Ton who starts fighting with Dozer and later Skya, who joins in the fight due to Dozer throwing Ton-Ton at her.
  • The Heart: The group has a lot of trouble working together, and their differences very nearly break them apart, but they rally together for Ty's sake who is able to urge them to continue to work together for a better future.
  • Hey, That's My Line!: Dozer uses "dude" against Ton-Ton when he accuses him of not being careful when he throws rocks. Ton-Ton's reaction isn't pretty.
Ton-Ton: Oh! Now you used "dude" against me?! You've gone too far!
  • Fantastic Racism: Species of Dinotrux have stayed with their own kind and held fear or resentment of other species for ages, so even a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits will have trouble getting along right away.
  • Home Base: The garage will serve as one for the Dinotrux and the Reptools.
  • The Last Straw: Lampshaded by D-Structs, who says that the Trux need "one, more push" to break apart from each other. The said "push" is a boulder that D-Structs throws at the garage wall that gets destroyed and nearly kills Ty.
  • Malicious Misnaming: Dozer calls Skya "Neckie" after she intervenes in their fight.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Literally. After Ty says that the construction of the garage isn't working at all, Ton-Ton says that they already put up one wall... which then falls to pieces because Ton-Ton hit it with his tail. This results in the gang starting to argue with each other.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: D-Structs successfully manages to break the Dinotrux apart, but when he throws Ty over a cliff for good measure, his peril is what motivates the Dinotrux to overcome their differences and start working together again, ultimately leading to the completion of the garage. So instead of breaking them apart D-Structs made Dinotrux even stronger.
Scrap It: They finished it, and bigger.
    D-Structs: I don't understand!
Ty: That's exactly your problem D-Structs, you'll never understand... Funny how you wanted to break us apart.
Revvit: But now we are stronger than ever.
  • Not Me This Time: Ton-Ton says this when Skya accuses him of throwing rocks at her trees. It turns out that it was D-Structs, who schemed to break group apart.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Skya says "My name is SKYA!!!" before she knocks Dozer to the ground via her tail.
  • Pet the Dog: After Skrap-It says to D-Structs that he did a great job at throwing boulders at Skya's trees, D-Structs isn't annoyed by him, instead saying to him that he should wait for the Dozer's reaction to finding his mound being destroyed.
  • Poor Communication Kills: The reason for the conflict is that the gang is new at working together: Dozer accidently fills up foundation holes that Ty had dug up while Ton-Ton accidentally threw rocks at Skya's trees.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Ton-Ton has this reaction when Dozer uses "dude" against him.
