Recap / DC Superhero Girls 2019 S 2 E 13 Multiplici Zee

Go To

Zee finds a spell that allows her to make duplicates of herself so she can binge-watch the latest season of her favorite show before anyone can spoil it for her.

Tropes:

  • Call-Back: The photo of Zee with her dad from "#Abracadabrapalooza" appears again as a plot point.
  • Clone Degeneration: One of the Zee duplicates, Wee, came out not quite right. She has a baby face, speaks like a toddler, and tends to mess up any task given to her.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: All the clones are of a lighter shade of violet than the original Zee. Also, each version/set of clones has a different color of eyes and wears a single article of clothing that matches the eye color.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Wee brings Zee a cup of "tea" that turns out to be soy sauce.
  • Literal Split Personality: Each of Zee's duplicates represents an aspect of her personality. The first is her studious side, the second is the part of her that loves performing, the third is the superhero part, and so on.
  • Me's a Crowd: Zee at first just makes two duplicates, but then those duplicates make more duplicates, until hundreds of them are running wild on Metropolis.
  • Mundane Utility: Zee asked one of her clones to get her a tissue. Said clone made another clone to do it for her.
  • Ridiculous Procrastinator: The whole plot comes about because Zee didn't want to miss the latest season of Make It Wayne and made duplicates of herself to first do her studies, then do a magic show she was scheduled to do. Then the duplicates end up doing all the other things she likes doing, like hanging out with her friends, and Zee realizes she's wasting her life away.
  • Theme Naming: Zee names her clones after letters, in keeping with her nickname. So the first clone is Bee, the second is Cee, and so on.
