Last time, Azur Lane encountered Myoukou's fleet of Sakura Empire. They successfully drive them off but survivors are left behind to be taken as prisoners of war. During the gathering of these prisoners, Azur Lane discovers that the Sakura have Red Wisdom Shards at the back of their necks which would have killed them if not for their interference.
Meanwhile, Akashi and Shiranui learn that a part of Myoukou's fleet have accidentally stumbled upon their base, where they are about to meet their terrifying protectors.
