“Remember I'll always be there for you, even if you can't see me, because I love you.”
As the Heeler parents tuck in the girls, Bingo requests one extra bedtime story from Chilli, who agrees on the condition that after the story, it's sleepytime. Bingo tells her mother that she would like to do "a big-girl sleep" and wake in her own bed. Chilli encourages Bingo to do her best, assuring her that Chilli will be there for her if she needs her.

Inspired by her bedtime story, Bingo dreams of exploring the solar system with her stuffed bunny Floppy, while in reality sleepwalking through the house. Chili is awoken by Bluey's request for a glass of water, only to return to find Bluey asleep in the parental bed with Bandit, forcing Chilli to take refuge in Bluey's abandoned bed. Bingo, still sleepwalking, joins Bluey and Bandit in the big bed while dreaming of romping on Neptune and Jupiter. A groggy Bandit carries Bingo back to her room. On his way back, Bandit encounters Bluey in the toilet and pauses to sing to her, without noticing Bingo has wandered back to his room. Bandit returns to find Bingo asleep on his side of the bed. Bluey takes the other half of the bed, leaving Bandit to sleep on the floor. Bluey rolls off the bed to join her father, taking the blankets with her and leaving Bingo cold and alone.

In her dream, Bingo and Floppy find themselves shivering at the far, dark edges of the solar system. Spying the Sun in the distance, Bingo and Floppy move toward the warmth and light, causing Bingo to sleepwalk back toward her own room but lose Floppy along the way. Meanwhile, in the dream, Bingo and Floppy encounter Saturn, the rings of which are made of hundreds of Floppies. Floppy begs to remain with the other bunnies, and Bingo reluctantly lets her go.

Now alone in her bed and her dream, Bingo whimpers in her sleep. Hearing her daughter's distress, Chilli wakes instantly and goes to cuddle Bingo. Bingo's dream changes to basking in the warmth of a caring and compassionate Sun, which reassures her with her mother's promise that she will always be there for her. On her way back to her own bed, Chilli finds Floppy and returns her to Bingo, reuniting the pair in Bingo's dream. Sunrise finds Bluey and Bandit peacefully sleeping on the floor, Chilli happily sprawled in the empty big bed, and Bingo asleep in her own bed, having succeeded in her "big-girl sleep."

Tropes:

  • Blanket Tug O' War: Bluey and Bandit fight over the blankets and jostle Bingo around, which also occurs in her dream. After a bit of back and forth, they both tug the sheets at the same time, sending Bingo airborne.
  • Bookends: A rather literal example. Bingo's dream starts and ends on a close-up and zoom out respectively on the book of planets that Chilli read to her.
  • Dream Episode: The aptly named episode takes place mostly while Bingo's dreaming, but it will often cut to the real world to show how it influences her dream.
  • Frothy Mugs of Water: Bandit sleepily sings "99 bottles of 'thing' on the wall" to Bluey, neatly avoiding the word 'beer'.
  • Groin Attack: While Bingo dreams of bouncing on Jupiter, she accidentally bounces a bit too hard in a certain spot sensitive to Bandit.
  • Marshmallow Dream: Several times, the episode cuts from Bingo's dream to her performing the same actions in real life, such as when she dreams she's bouncing on Jupiter and she's actually bouncing on Bandit (rather uncomfortably for him).
  • Meaningful Echo: "Remember I'll always be here for you, even if you can't see me, because I love you."
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: After Chilli is done reading a book to Bingo, Bingo digs out a second book from under her pillow and uses a "please face" to get Chilli to read it to her. Unlike the other "please faces" in the series, however, there's no close-up on Bingo this time.
  • Sleepwalking: Bingo apparently has a habit of wandering around the house while asleep, since she promises Chilli at the start of the episode that she'll stay in her own bed this time. Much of the episode shows her sleepwalking anyway, and how what happens around her influences the dream she's having.
  • Standard Snippet: Since Bingo's dream focuses heavily on planets and outer space, parts of Gustav Holst's The Planets are incorporated into the episode's soundtrack, particularly "Jupiter".
