Recap / Bluey Postman

Go To

When Mum and Dad have a disagreement, Bluey makes Dad write a love letter to Mum to make up. Bluey must find a way to play Ground's Lava with Bingo and deliver the letter to Mum, without squabbling.

Tropes:

  • Both Sides Have a Point: Towards the climax, Bluey and Bingo find themselves figuratively painted into a corner when they find Chili has moved too far away to deliver the letter. What follows is both sisters airing out their respective grievances caused by their inability to communicate. Bluey voices she didn't want to play "Floor is Lava" because she needed so desperately to deliver the letter, but went along with Bingo's game because she would've gotten upset. Bingo in turn voices she gets upset because Bluey often doesn't follows through on her promises to play with her, but she would've understood if Bluey didn't want to play if only she had told her the urgent reason behind her mission. To this, Bluey argues that she withheld information about their parents squabble because she didn't want to worry her sister.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The episode originally calls itself simply 'Postman', but when Bingo suggests that Bluey plays both games at once, the full episode name is revealed.
Bluey: This episode of Bluey is called 'Postman and Ground's Lava'!
  • Episode Title Card: The usual title card shows up twice in this episode as part of a joke; it appears with the title "Postman" early on, but when Bluey agrees to play Ground's Lava with Bingo, it shows up with the extended title "Postman and Ground's Lava".
  • Poor Communication Kills: Bluey could've told Bingo that she didn't have time to play "Floor is Lava" because she (urgently) needed to deliver her letter to their mother so their parents would make up from their latest squabble. The only reason she didn't was because she didn't want her sister to worry. And thus ensues the conflict where Bluey's quest to deliver the letter is slowed by "The Floor is Lava".
