T'Challa and Hunter desperately try to save Atlantis from the Shadow Council's machinations, but complications and tragedy strike.
Tropes:
- Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Killmonger successfully manages to talk T'Challa out of killing him by pointing out with Zanda dead only he knows where Black Widow really is.
- Disney Villain Death: Zanda falls to her apparent death, evidently unable to shapeshift her way out.
- Diving Save: Once again, T'Challa leaping in front of falling rubble proves his bona fides, when he saves an Atlantean child from debris. This convinces Attuma to stand down and hear him out.
- Hope Spot:
- It looks like T'Challa's managed to convince Attuma to stand down and listen to reason... and then Killmonger blows a hole through his chest.
- T'Challa and Hunter manage to defeat Killmonger, and it appears everything will be finished, but then he parlays information into living, pissing off Attuma's daughter, who is no mood to let him live.
- Poor Communication Kills: T'Challa once again reverts to being secretive rather than just try to explain why he needs Killmonger alive a little longer, ruining relations with Atlantis just when it looked like they'd been salvaged.
- Speak Ill of the Dead: Tiger Shark continues insulting Attuma as a weak king after his death. Not a smart move in front of his vengeful daughter. Elanna makes it clear he can either get with the program or she'll fry him.
