Following Prismo's memorial service, Jake begins acting strangely.

Tropes:

  • Back from the Dead: In case he died, Prismo had a contingency plan to bring himself back to life through Jake's dreams due to their mystical bro-bond.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Finn's hand thorn makes a reappearance.
    • The time travel involves Jake performing reenactments of past episodes, such as burying the Everything Burrito in "Conquest of Cuteness", dancing with the bugs in "Power Animal", or making bacon pancakes in "Burning Low".
    • Finn's past self turns into the sword that he had a vision of in "Breezy".
  • Contrived Coincidence: Finn surmises that the only way to break the paradox that is time-looping Jake through past events is to wait for Jake to perform the Prismo pickle ritual from the previous night again, and then repeat his own previous actions verbatim, and lampshades how unlikely and convoluted this is. Right on cue, Jake begins performing the ritual again, and Finn joins in.
  • Cool Sword: Finn's fifth major sword, the Finn Sword. It's made from the essence of an alternate timeline version of Finn.
Finn: This is me? This sword is me?
    Revived Prismo: Finn Sword, dude.
  • Exact Words: Any time that Finn interacts with Jake following the Prismo ritual, if he says or does something different than what previously occurred, it results in a time paradox that causes Jake to explode; this occurs even when Finn doesn't directly interact with Jake, such as Jake noticing that Finn isn't standing where he should be.
  • Expendable Alternate Universe: Not much thought is given to the moral implications or consequences of the alternate timeline versions of Jake and Finn being left in eternal slumber to resurrect Prismo and being erased/turned into an inanimate object, respectively, although it's implied Jake wouldn't actually mind what happened to him, and Finn states outright that he's willing to take the risk to help Prismo in spite of him being more of a friend to Jake.
  • MST3K Mantra: Invoked by Prismo when Finn starts questioning the mechanics of how the time loop (and later Plan B itself) functions.
Finn: So, are you actually talking to me right now, or are you pretending to in an empty room?
Past Prismo: I was pretending, but now I can see you.
Finn: What does "now" mean to you?
Past Prismo: Uhhh... Hurry up, I need your help.
  • Obvious Trap: Jake is smart enough to recognise that the Prismo bed is one... then promptly climbs in anyway whilst admitting that it was a successful one.
  • Stable Time Loop: The Time Room is shown to behave like this, with multiple Finns and Jakes repeating their actions from when they first enter to when they arrive at the Prismo bed, and many of Prismo's memories are glimpsed throughout. A past incarnation of Prismo resides in the room as well, and he reveals that he intends to exploit the time loop to resurrect himself should he ever be Killed Off for Real.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: Prismo's resurrection plan involves time loops and paradoxes, and is very convoluted and confusing. Lampshaded by Finn:-
Revived Prismo: Whoa, Finn, hey! Are you gonna wake up Jake?
Finn: Yeah. Is that gonna kill you again, though?
Revived Prismo: My past self is doing Plan B, right?
Finn: Uh yes, although I gotta say, this whole thing seems rickety as yoga balls.
Revived Prismo: Yeah, tell me about it.
Finn: You tell you about it!
