L-R:Cole Preston, Braeden Lemasters, and Dylan Minnette
Wallows are an American Indie Rock band composed of Dylan Minnette, Braeden Lemasters, and Cole Preston. Formed in Los Angeles, this alt-rock trio originally called themselves The Narwhals before changing it to their current name.

After signing to Atlantic Records, they released their debut EP Spring in 2018. In 2019 they released their debut studio album Nothing Happens.

Pulling Leaves Off Tropes:

  • Incompatible Orientation: "1980s Horror Film" is about a guy who has a crush on a girl and attempts to ask her out while they're watching a horror movie. The song ends with the girl telling him that she's "really not that into guys".
  • Lampshade Hanging: The opening line of "1980s Horror Film" acknowledges how overused pointing out how a girl being seventeen is
    She
    Was only seventeen
Oh, why are girls in songs always seventeen?
  • Lead Singer Plays Lead Guitar: Braeden plays most of the lead guitar parts and is a co-lead singer alongside Dylan.
  • Surf Rock: A lot of their music is influenced by the genre, but it's most prominently felt on Nothing Happens.
  • Trilogy: The music videos for "OK", "Nobody Gets Me (Like You)", and "Wish Me Luck" all form an interconnected narrative.
