"Cheer Up" is the Breakthrough Hit by K-pop girl group TWICE, appearing on their 2016 extended play Page Two. Following their Sleeper Hit with debut single "Like OOH-AHH", this was their first of nine consecutive number-1 hits in Korea and quickly solidified Twice as a household name with its "color pop" mashup of pop, hip-hop, tropical house, and drum-and-bass, as well as Sana's "shy shy shy" meme.
The music video pays homage to various film and television characters in both Asian and Western media. This includes Nayeon referencing Sidney Prescott in the in the Scream films, Sana dressed as Sailor Moon, Tzuyu as Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Chaeyoung as a cowgirl in a spaghetti western, and Jihyo as a cheerleader in Bring It On.
In August 2017, the video made Twice the first K-pop girl group to have two videos exceeding 200 million views on YouTube, with their first video to reach that milestone being that of follow-up single "TT". It was also named the most popular video on YouTube in South Korea in 2016.

Gotta see you trope me like a real man:
- Alternate Music Video: There are multiple dance videos in addition to the main video, most notably the "Avengers" version, which has the group dancing in their costumes on a Chroma Key alien planet.
- Book Ends: The video begins with the Twice members in the kitchen and ends with them back in the kitchen but goofing around in costume.
- The Cutie: Sana being one of the most famous anime girls... in a toy store! She also has a pink microphone for one of her parts and is seen at the end cutely fighting off Momo's guns with her magic staff.
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Like its predecessor, Momo does not use the squeaky voice here but instead sings at a lower register. The first Twice title track to feature the infamous "Momo voice" is follow-up single "TT".
- Guns Akimbo: Momo possesses two guns and fires them both at the camera simultaneously.
- Gun Twirling: Chaeyoung twirls her gun on the car with her revolver as the cowgirl.
- Hair Flip: Mina flips her hair in her part in the climax.
- Homage: The MV revolves around this trope. To be more precise, Nayeon homages the movie Scream, Mina the Japanese movie Love Letter, Sana Sailor Moon, Tzuyu Breakfast at Tiffany's, Momo Resident Evil (2002), Jeongyeon the Hongkongese movie Chungking Express, Jihyo homages Bring It On, Chaeyoung can be homageing any Spaghetti Western, and Dahyun the Korean movie Hwang Jin Yi.
- Non-Human Head: The guy with the camera head at the beginning and the end of the video
- Sinister Subway: Jeongyeon, Momo, and Jihyo walk through an empty and dimly lit subway station in Action Girl attire with guns, implying there is something there that needs to be fought.
- Stylistic Suck: Done in the "Avengers" dance video, when the dance break takes place in front of a "broken" green screen.
- The Tag: The revisiting of the opening scene after the song ends, set to the B-side "Touchdown" from Page Two.
