• Given how Gordon feels about Isaac, why would he want to be the best man at the wedding? It seems he'd be secretly relieved that Bortus stepped in.
  • If anyone else had stepped in, he probably would have been relieved. But between Isaac saying that he picked Gordon because he was the funniest and the seemingly humorless Bortus contesting it, it became a matter of pride.
    • It's even lampshaded in the episode. When Mercer asks Gordon if he's more upset about being passed over for Bortus as a best man, or about the Kaylon invasion of Earth, he says he's madder about the former.
  • The end of the previous episode implied that Gordon was on his way to forgiving Isaac (given how he was acting at the funeral), and he was likely wanting to be the best man as a sign that their friendship was once again intact. Bortus stepping in denied him a chance to show Isaac that bygones had been made bygones.
