It may seem odd that Mr. Cat would be nice to Pretty and attempt to forgive her at the end of the episode after what she did. It's possible that he's trying to encourage her, a fellow antagonist on the show, to be a good person more often and get on the right track, and it would seem quite hypocritical if he didn't extend the same forgiveness to her that the other characters have to him.
Mr. Cat usually consoles Kaeloo when she cries, but in this episode, he goes a little further with his efforts than usual. In most other episodes, when Kaeloo cries, she just sniffles a little but manages to stay calm for the most part, but here, she's literally screaming in anguish.
