Kaeloo doesn't even bother to try to escape the meteor, instead opting to cheerfully yell "We're all going to die!" Considering the self-loathing she's exhibited in previous episodes, it's entirely possible that she wanted to be killed, and actually would have died if it weren't for Mr. Cat wanting to protect her.
