Buy now, Die later is a 2015 Filipino horror film directed by Randolph Longjas starring Vhong Navarro, Alex Gonzaga, Rayver Cruz, John Lapus, Lotlot de Leon, TJ Trinidad, and Janine Gutierrez.
The film is about a compendium of five interrelated stories brought together by the proprietor of a curio shop selling unusual items. Each of the character’s stories is weaved around the five senses – a sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste.
Provides examples of:
- Attempted Rape: This happens to Maita (who became young again thanks to a beauty cream) when a guy who refuses to accept rejection get his hands on her. Thankfully, Pippa comes in to confront the guy before he goes further, saving Maita in the process.
- Asshole Victim: Ato. He kills people and turns them into meat in order to use the recipe book, which leads to his restaurant's success. Also, he is the only one who didn't regret buying the product from Santi and is willing to kill his own friend Odie when Odie is trying to protect Chloe from Ato. It's safe to say no one feels bad for him when he is killed by Santi as a payment for his product.
- Bittersweet Ending: Odie, Chloe, and Pippa escape the store but they lose their senses (Odie loses his sight, Chole loses her hearing and Pippa becomes sensitive to smell) and Maita dies sacrificing herself to end Santi's wickedness. Worse of all, Santi is revealed to be alive and continues to sell his products outside his burned store.
- Fountain of Youth: Santi gives Maita a beauty cream that allows her to become young again.
- Meaningful Name: Santi. In his name, if you move the "n" after the "i" and change the "i" to "a", then you'll get that Santi's true nature is that of Satan.
- The End... Or Is It?: At the end, Odie, Chloe, and Pippa ride the van as it passes by the burnt store Santi was in. While the firefighters take care of the store, there is a small store outside where a person wearing a headscarf sells their products to homeless people. Said person is revealed to be Santi, who was presumed dead in a burning store.
- The Killer in Me: Odie realizes that he killed the congressman and his mistress Natasha and that the camera was possessing into doing so.
- The Secret of Long Pork Pies: It's revealed that Ato murdered people and turned them into meat in order to use the recipe book that Santi had given to him.
