i'm not your manic pixie dream girl By [[orphan_account]]

  • Recommended by Bee 123
  • Status: Complete
  • Characters: Schroeder, Lucy van Pelt
  • Synopsis: “Lucy and Schroeder deal with growing up as gifted kids but not automatical sucessful adults. They deal with it and find themself.
  • Warning: mentions/implications of sex, alcohol
  • Comments: As the title suggests this is a twist/fight against the idea of Manic Pixie Dream Girl, aka the idea that a woman exist just to help a male character find himself (and also to have sex with him). It is hopeful despite the struggle that feels very real.

Peanuts Untold by XUnlimited

  • Recommended by: FoxBluereaver
  • Status: Ongoing (Last updated on June 1, 2019)
  • Synopsis: A little series of 4-panel strips featuring Lila (Snoopy's original owner) moving to Charlie Brown's neighborhood and joining the rest of the gang.
  • Pairing: Charlie Brown/Lila
  • Comments: A simple premise, yet it works so well it might as well be written by Schultz himself. A pretty good use of a rather minor character who didn't even meet Charlie Brown in the strip, and while it keeps the humor and spirit of the original, it also gives Charlie Brown some love with a girl who genuinely likes him.

Not Everything Changes Charlie Brown by TheBringerOfPain

  • Recommended by: Killusion
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Charlie Brown is now nineteen and in an existential crisis as he ponders the things that have slipped away from him as he's grown older, so much so that he's in danger of losing focus on what he has been able to hold onto.
  • Pairing: Lucy/Charlie Brown
  • Tags: Drama
  • Comments: One shot that is ultimately bittersweet. It has good characterization of all of the present peanut characters as well as having a powerful theme of change as Charlie Brown combats the regrets he has in his life. There is a chemistry and life to the interactions of the characters as well as a nice resolution. Would definitely recommend a read.
