This creepypasta contains examples of:
- Actually Pretty Funny: The narrator begins to laugh because they were reminded of how cheese strings melted when they saw Woody’s jaw melt off.
- Adaptational Alternate Ending: The basis for the story.
- Artistic License – Film Production: The narrator describes the alternate ending’s animation as “twice as disturbing” compared to hand-drawn animation due to the fact that the toys are constantly moving. It is true that fluid 2D animation sometimes falls into the Unintentional Uncanny Valley; although fluid animation isn’t an exception to All-CGI Cartoons, it is the rule. Because it looks off if it stops moving, whereas in 2D animation, you can get away with that.
- Body Horror: The descriptions of what happens to the toys are like this: For example, after the toys started Holding Hands, they started to melt onto each other once they got close to the fire.
- Computer Virus: The only thing found on the computer that projected the movie was the virus, which was presumably installed by the person who made the alternate ending.
- Deranged Animation: The animation for the alternate ending is described as fluid and “twice as disturbing” compared to fluid traditional animation.
- Deus ex Machina: Averted, the lack of one is the basis for the story.
- Eye Scream: Woody’s eyes melted off of their sockets and onto his cheeks, which burst like egg yolks.
- I'm Melting!: The fate of all of the toys since they were not rescued by the aliens.
- Jawbreaker: Woody’s jaw falls off its hinges.
- Jaw Drop: Played for Horror, Woody’s mouth opens wider than it is humanly possible, his lips stretched as far as they can go until his jaw melts off of its hinges and drops on top of his lap.
- Karma Houdini: The perpetrator, who created the alternate ending and who the narrator speculates was an employee of the theater, wasn’t caught.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: In-Universe, aside from the corrupted files left by a Computer Virus, there is no evidence that the alternate ending existed.
- Man on Fire: The fabric on Woody catches fire.
- The Other Darrin: In-Universe, the narrator and his friend notice that the voice actors are not the same.
- Precision F-Strike: This happens when the narrator laughs at one of his thoughts; this happens in an otherwise clean story:Cheese and plastic? What the fuck was I even looking at?!
- Sudden Soundtrack Stop: There is no dramatic music at all in the alternate ending.
- Windows of the Soul: The explanation that the narrator comes up with for why Woody’s eyes acted like real ones when they melted off and burst despite being a toy.
- Your Head A-Splode: Played With, Woody’s cheeks formed into black bubbles that popped.
