The Loric Games is a fanfic by Number Ten. It is a crossover between The Hunger Games and Lorien Legacies.

The premise is this: What if, in addition to Katniss and Peeta, the ten survivors of the Loric Garde were also participating in the Hunger Games?

  • Adaptational Expansion: Several characters in this book are given expanded stories.
    • Glimmer gets hit with this - while in canon, we barely learn anything about her, this fic elevates her to a secondary character and gives her a lot more characterization - Namely, that she is far more insecure than she lets on and is actually just as scared about that games as most of the other tributes are. She and Marvel even dated for a brief amount of time but he ended up cheating on her (They did agree to remain friends). She was also cheated on by other boyfriends and admits to having cheated herself. All of this emotional baggage likely leaves her with the insecurities of her appearance and value as a person. She uses this pent-up rage in her training in the games. She also mentions that she has a less than perfect home life; while she has many friends and goes to a fancy school in the district, her mother has been divorced five times since having her daughter and also has had many lovers. She shares with Number Three that she has a baby brother at home whom she loves dearly and is afraid that he won't grow up with his big sister around.
    • Clove is also given this treatment- It is revealed in her conversation with Five during the games that she has three older sisters and two older brothers, one of the latter having won the Hunger Games several years previous. She mentions how her family lives in luxury and then it became a family tradition to volunteer, possibly despite her own hidden misgivings about everything. Five deduces that Clove feels overshadowed by her older siblings, her brothers have gone on to become Peacekeepers and her sisters marrying successful stonemasons. It seems that one of the reasons she's in the Games is to prove herself as a member of her family. She also reveals that her mother left their family to live a life of luxury in the Capitol.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Number Five is Part of the Garde from the start of the story this time. However, he apparently did side with the Mogs at first and is still viewed with caution by the rest of the Garde.
  • The Cameo: Johanna and Finnick tributes from previous games are not named but are mentioned.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: Marina(Number Seven)'s mentor deliberately mocks her into trying to attack her, as she needs to be sure she can actually fight before giving Marina any assistance.
  • Death by Adaptation: All of the Garde's Cepans are already dead.
  • Eye Scream: Five lost his right eye to Nine (for attacking Eight).
  • For the Evulz: The reason the Mogadorians decided to have the Garde fight in the Hunger Games - the idea of the Garde being forced to kill each other was just too amusing.
  • I Have Your Wife: The Mogs are using Sam, Sarah, Ella and several others as leverage against the Garde to ensure that they fight to the death and don't use the games as a chance to unite together.
  • Interspecies Romance: this trope happens for almost all the characters in the story with the exception of Katniss and Peeta, Marina and Number Eight ** Number One and Adamus Sutekh (Loric and Mogadorian), Number Three and Glimmer (Loric and Human), John Smith and Sarah Hart (Loric and Human), Number Five and Clove (Loric and Human), Number Six and Sam Goode (Loric and Human), Number Ten/Christina and Blake Levitt (Loric and Human)
  • Original Character: This story features an original character of Number Ten, who also likes to go by Christina
  • Ship Tease: Five and Clove. Number Three and Glimmer
  • Spared by the Adaptation: All of the Garde is still kicking by the time the story starts, they were living outside of Panem but the war with the Mogs drove them into the oppressive nation and into hiding. The Mogs then manipulated the games so the names of the Gared were reaped to force them into the Hunger Games.
    • Rue is healed from her mortal wound, as is Marvel, Glimmer, and the other district tributes except for the female tributes of District 8 and 9.
  • Villain Team-Up: In this story, the two major antagonists from both book series team up, specifically President Snow and his Peacekeepers and Setrakus Ra and the Mogadorians.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter 37: The Mogadorians move to openly invade Panem, and the Garde breaks out of the arena.
