From Beyond the World Tree is a crossover fan-fiction between High School D×D and Overlord (2012).
Defying reality, Momonga had found himself in the body of a teenage boy, one gifted with a power beyond his dreams. Through the boy, he would begin a new chapter of his life in a world where limits cannot exist, where the surrealities dominate common sense, and on a quest to survive the hurdles the world could throw at him. Be it the foes that threaten him, or the girls wanting him.

Fanfic contains the following tropes:
- Ascended Extra: Murayama and Katase, Those Two Girls gets a more active role following their discovery of Issei's new condition.
- Cassandra Truth: When "Issei" acts less perverted and more studious, many people refuse to believe it. Katase and Murayama in particular are flabberghasted when he states he would not peep on them. Hilariously, this leads to the girls actually trying to tempt "Issei", unwilling to believe he really has changed.
- Death by Adaptation: Since Ainz is taking the role of protagonist, let's just say that mercy is pratically non-existent whenever he has his enemies within his grasps.
- Issei himself is subjected to this, as he died at Raynare's hands and was never revived as a Devil since Momonga took up residence in his body.
- Death of Personality: What essentially happened to Ddraig. When Momonga inexplicably finds himself inhabiting Issei's body, the Red Dragon Emperor's soul was "consumed" by Momonga, giving him a new repertoire of abilities on top of access to Boosted Gear.
- Dies Differently in Adaptation: Freed and Diodora, who die later in the novels, are unceremoniously killed off by Momonga early in what would be the Holy Maiden arc. Freed is subjected to Grasp Heart while Diodora is on the receiving end of a Life Drain.
- Everyone Has Standards: Having lived with Issei's kind parents, Momonga has some regrets about pretending to be their son.
- Reforged into a Minion: Raynare, Kalawarner and Mittelt have being subjected to this by "Issei" because they are just THAT terrified of him.
- This Is Unforgivable!: After deducing that Diodora intentionally ruined Asia's life, Issei/Momonga makes sure that the bastard suffer as much agony as possible before reducing him to a shrivelled husk.
- We Want Our Jerk Back!: Largely downplayed. Only Issei's Those Two Guys want him back but almost all of the faculty and students prefer the current version.
