- Adaptational Superpower Change: In canon, Nana has Float, but nothing else. In this fic, even before getting One For All she was a classic Flying Brick.
- Astral Projection: Izuku's quirk allows him to eject his spirit from his body for a limited amount of time and for a limited range. He can still be heard in this state but not seen. This starts to change after he gets One For All.
- Canine Companion: Izuku has a service dog named Howler in this story, who he gets in chapter 10.
- In Spite of a Nail:
- Izuku still gets One For All in spite of having a quirk.
- Despite having a quirk, Izuku is still bullied by everyone because nobody sees it in a good light.
- Izuku is transferred to another middle school but he still saves Bakugou from the Sludge villain.
- Insult of Endearment: Even though he first said it in anger, Izuku starts using "Thermostat" as a nickname for Shouto.
- O.C. Stand-in: As there were no details on the past One For All users aside from Nana when this fic was first published, the One For All users of this version have practically nothing in common with their canon counterparts.
- Prematurely Grey-Haired: Izuku's hair starts turning white from stress. The fic specifically names the Marie Antoinette syndrome.
- Pungeon Master: Izuku's method of both socializing and dealing with stress is to deliver a Hurricane of Puns. He stresses out a lot.
- Shout-Out: A lot of the chapter titles are also the names of Hamilton songs.
