Richard "Red" Skelton (July 18, 1913 – September 17, 1997) was an American actor and comedian.
He was best known for his radio and television series that aired between 1937 and 1971, especially as the host of The Red Skelton Show. He also appeared in numerous films and made various stage and nightclub appearances throughout his career, while maintaining a secondary occupation as an artist (whose speciality was painting clowns).
