Lee Strasberg (born Israel Lee Strassberg; November 17, 1901 – February 17, 1982) was a Polish-born American actor, director, and theatre practitioner best known for teaching Method Acting, for his involvement with the Actors Studio (and, later, the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute), and for his performance as Hyman Roth in The Godfather Part II.
He was married to Nora Krecaum, actress Paula Miller, and Anna Mizsrahi, and had four children, which included Susan Strasberg and John Strasberg.
He died at the age of 80 in 1982 from a heart attack.
