Main Characters

    Baku

Baku

"Lemme get uh....BONELESS PIZZA with a 2 liter of coke."

The main protagonist of the series.

  • Achievements in Ignorance: Baku originally thought his YEET ability was a one-hit kill move, but Obito revealed that he was actually sending people into another dimension.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: Baku was officially charged with robbery, three accounts of murder (or at least one count of attempted murder), harassing a member of the LGB, reckless driving, bullshitting on food service, and trash lyrics, which is apparently a crime in the state of Illinois.
  • Berserk Button: Anything VEGAN, as shown on "Vegan Sandwich". When the cashier tried to tell Baku that he was ordering a vegan sandwich, Baku kept threatening the man for "trying" to give him something VEGAN.
    • And for that matter, DO NOT INSULT HIS YEEZY'S. The K-pop stan unfortunate enough to do so learned that the hard way.
  • Character Development: After Lil Broomstick moves in with him and even saves him from Bill (by accident), he becomes more tolerant of the guy and even hangs around with him without telling him to screw off.
  • Characterization Marches On: In the first two episodes of Season 1, Baku is a neutral, if not somewhat indifferent and empty headed. However, every episode onwards has him directly antagonistic and abrasive, particularly toward food service employees.
  • Comically Missing the Point: He tends to follow things on an Exact Words basis.
Tobi: ...dog, swear on your timbsnote  you're not fuckin' with me?
Baku: How 'bout I don't wear timbs? I wear yeeezy.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Especially towards Lil Broomstick.
  • Everyone Has Standards: He's genuinely disturbed by Lil Broomstick's lyrics in "Declined".
Baku: Is that written? Did you write them lines down? You're fucked.
  • Exact Words: He operates by this. A great example is in "No Gluten".
Tobi: You can get the gluten-free white bread, the potato bread-
Baku: What the fuck is gluten? Take that shit out!
    Tobi: It's gluten-free.
    Baku: I don't care if it's free.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: When he YEET's someone.
  • Hot-Blooded: Baku is not hesitant to get into a fight and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.
  • I Hate Past Me: Inverted. After traveling back in time with Lil’ Broomstick, he meets the past version of himself and is actually the only person he gets along with.
  • Insistent Terminology: He says "Italics" instead of "Italian".
  • Jerkass: He's definitely this when ordering food. He also gets somebody's Xbox account shut down in "Copy Rice" simply because the account's name is his name.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Double Subverted. After spending four seasons as an Invincible Villain Protagonist Baku ended up getting caught by the police and was promptly arrested for murder, speeding in a neighborhood, and prank calling food services and was sentenced for thirty years. It turned out, he actually enjoys the peaceful prison life. That is until Baku coughs in prison, causing the guard to be paranoid about him having the Corona Virus and promptly putting Baku under house arrest instead. Where he is forced to record mixtapes with Lil' Broomstick.
    • Ironically, the murder charges were undeserved. As Baku's lawyer points out, the police had no evidence of two of the three murders, and the third person he allegedly murdered was standing in the same room as him. That said, the whole thing was a Kangaroo Court anyway, with someone Baku had repeatedly antagonized before as the judge.
Phoenix: That mothafucka had no chance.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Once he witnessed Tobi phase through bullets, which Bank Bill shot at him to take his winning lottery ticket, he decides it isn't worth it and doesn't fight him for it. Even after Bank Bill and Lil' Broomstick demand him to because he's "the main character".
  • Noodle Incident: He says in "Ain't Playing Games" that he may have killed one or more people in the past.
    Police Fish: [Committed a] murder?
    Baku: Maybe once or twice.
    • Wordof God states that when he used FOH 🅱️ on Grim, it actually killed him. However, "No License" shows the Police Fish survive it, and "Supreme Court" shows that Roger survived it.
  • Only Sane Man: In episodes where he's not ordering food Baku is usually just running normal errands or is just relaxing harmlessly at home until one of the many side characters come in and ruin his day, where he reacts with complete indefference to their BS.
  • Super-Scream: The YEET, which launches people backwards and into an alternate dimension.
  • Trademark Favorite Food:
    • All together now...
BONELESS PIZZA with a 2 liter of coke.
    • Seems to have a thing for bread products. The videos usually have Baku order pizzas, sandwiches, burritos and most commonly chicken biscuits without any meat, cheese or just any ingredients except for the bread parts of the food. On top of that he seems to be a regular customer at the Bread Bank and has a small understanding for various types of breads out there, enough to order specific types of bread by name (baguettes, brioche, ciabatta).
  • Troll: He at least confessed that he was bullshitin when he ordered for the boneless pizza.
  • Unconventional Food Order: Boneless Pizza is surprisingly his most tame food order. Baku regularly orders food dishes without their main ingredients (chicken biscuit with no chicken, Egg fooyung without the egg, beef burrito without any of the fillings including the beef).
  • Villain Protagonist: While most of his demeanors involve making food service workers lives hell, there are instances where he gets so fed up he murders people. His most notable victims are Grim and Roger. He also refuses to pay for absolutely anything. Word of God even calls him his third evilest character in The Baku Series: GOOD TO EVIL, outright saying the places Baku sends people to is a Place Worse Than Death.
  • The Worf Effect: Canonically one of the strongest in the series... but then two policemen manage to return from his YEET, and then use their SUBJUGATION attack on him.
    • And then Swagkage deflects his YEET with an ALMIGHTY PUSH.

    Lil Broomstick

Yung Cash Register, AKA Lil Broomstick

"I'm the biggest rapper ever to come up on the block."

A rising rap singer.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: He has a long fuse, especially compared to Baku, but he won't let himself get pushed around, as Dr. Mario learns in "Egg Foo Young".
  • Brick Joke: In "Swept Up" he says he'll get a Grammy for his song. In "Grammy" he does exactly that.
  • Deuteragonist: He is Baku's roommate and closest friend, and the only other character who appears as a protagonist in his own episodes.
  • Future Me Scares Me: When Lil’ Broomstick travels to the past with Baku, he meets himself back when he was a one-hit wonder SoundCloud artist and pitifully tries to rob him. Past Lil’ Broomstick in return hates what he’s become and wants nothing to do with his future counterpart.
  • Logging onto the Fourth Wall: Lil' Broomstick actually has a Soundcloud.
  • Noodle Incident: In "Ain't Playing Games", while being questioned by an officer, Lil Broomstick offhandedly states that he's stolen a car before, possibly more than once.
    Police Fish: Motor vehicle theft?
    Lil Broomstick: Not recently.
    • Whatever happened to his money. He does get some of it stolen on screen, but he admits that was barely any of it and doesn't seem bothered at all. He also offhandedly mentions owning a mansion in "Pack Ya Bags", but during "Job Interview", Bill pulls his credit report and finds he's $400,000 in debt with no house and no car. He starts to explain what happened before Bill cuts him off.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When Baku gets pulled over for speeding and is about to get arrested for not having a license while giving him a ride, Yung Cash Register calls up a friend to drive him and does nothing about Baku getting arrested. Perhaps a case of realism in media, because there's nothing he can do about this anyway.
  • The Thing That Would Not Leave: He enters Baku's house after "Grammy" and then never leaves.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: In "Grammy", Lil Broomstick wins a Grammy for his song Swept Up, but in the middle of an over-the-phone argument with Baku, someone steals the Grammy from him.

Recurring Characters

    Tobi

Tobi

"Swear on your fuckin' YEEZY'S, if you wanna fight we gonna fight."

A worker at Popeye's, and later, at a theater, the Bread Bank, and a Chinese restaurant.

  • Almighty Janitor: Stated to be the strongest character in the Baku universe as of the second tier list. He still holds down a mundane job at Popeyes.
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: Being interdimensional, he has knowledge of everything that goes on in the main series timeline as well as the Season 0 timeline, and can also talk directly to the audience. When explaining Baku's YEET in Superme Court, a season 5 episode, he uses footage from season 0 as an example.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: He uses Kamui (which isn't used until much later in Naruto) and Izanami (which only members of the Uchiha clan can use), and Sethical calls him Obito in streams.
  • Mythology Gag: He can send people to the PlayStation 2 start-up menu, which looks like the Kamui dimension.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: In the fourth season, he worked at a cinema. In the fifth one, he now works at Popeyes.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands:
    • In "Egg Foo Young", he has the power (or jutsu) to send people to the Kamui dimension... err, the PlayStation 2 start-up menu. Justified, as he didn't have the opportunity to show off his powers back in "Chicken Biskit".
    • He never used Izanami in the source material, although it was stated that members of the Uchiha clan could use it.
  • No-Sell: Kamui allows Tobi to negate Baku's YEET - he can just teleport back to the normal plane effortlessly.
  • Only Sane Man: Well...he's the sanest one when you compare him to the rest of the characters.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Although far from helpless, after five seasons of having to put up with the world around him for minimum wage, he wins a seven hundred billion dollar lottery.

    Bank Bill

Bill

"Where's the goddamn money?"

An accountant at the United Bank of Money and the manager at the Bread Bank.

  • Big Bad: He takes the role of main antagonist in his every appearance, also being the most recurring antagonist in the series.
  • Characterization Marches On: Bank Bill initially starts off as a Reasonable Authority Figure who tries to let Baku know about his overdue payments. But in later episodes he becomes someone who tries to squeeze and steal as much money as he is able to from the main cast, up to and including armed robbery.
  • Idiot Ball: He was smart enough to embezzle millions of dollars out of the United Bank of Money, but didn't realize in "The Lotto" that he could have just used the numbers he was given in the prerecorded drawing to guarantee himself the $700 billion jackpot until Baku pointed it out to him after the fact.
    Bill: Everybody makes mistakes.
  • Insistent Terminology: He always calls money "bread".
  • Jerkass Has a Point: He has a point that Baku needs to repay his loans.
    • He also makes a good point in questioning how Lil' Broomstick has $400,000 in credit card debt, no house, and no car.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: So far he's been a debt collector, a manager at the bakery, a judge, and an AC mechanic. He lampshades it in one episode when Baku scolds him for not knowing how to fix his AC:
    Baku: This is your job.
Bank Bill: This is like my 3rd or 4th job, man. I don't give a fuck about that shit.
  • Noodle Incident: Whatever it was he did that has the police looking for him in "Bread Bank"
Tobi: Look, you can either take this yeast, or I'm callin' the police.
    Baku: I'm goin' weast.
Bank Bill: Nah, don't call the police, I got a warrant.
  • Pun: "Bread" is slang for "money”. He works at the United Bank of Money and the Bread Bank (a bank/store for literal bread).

    Mario

Mario

"If I knew there were bitches like this out here, I would've stayed in the Mushroom Kingdom!'"

The owner of Mama Mia's Pizzeria, and later, a chef at a Chinese restaurant.

  • Arch-Enemy: Could be considered one to Baku, given Mario's role in food services.
  • Art Evolution: Played With. In "Bone-In Pizza" he uses his {{Dr. Mario Dr. Mario}} render from SuperSmashBrosMelee, while in "Egg Foo Young", he uses his Dr. Mario render from SuperSmashBrosUltimate.
  • Back from the Dead: He comes back to life (complete with a 1-UP Mushroom appearing and the iconic jingle that goes with it sounding off) after Baku YEETs him in "Egg Foo Young".
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: His eyes glow red in "Egg Foo Young" when yelling at Baku.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: When he yells at Baku in "Egg Foo Young".
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He curses a lot, even more than Baku does.
  • Suddenly Shouting!: He speaks with a raised voice a lot, but there's only two times where he's full-on yelling.
    • The first time is in "Bone-In Pizza"
Dr. Mario: YOU THINK I GIVE A FUCK!?
    • And later in "Egg Foo Young"
Dr. Mario: GET THIS DICKHEAD OUT OF MY KITCHEN!
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: He's supposed to have an Italian accent, though viewers have complained that Sethical's impression of one sounds more like a Hindu accent. This is fixed in "Egg Foo Young".

Others

     Schnitzel

Schnitzel

"You said "lemme get it boneless" like pizza got a damn bone in it."

An employee at a pizzeria.

  • Comically Missing the Point: Shows bits of this in "Boneless Pizza 2" where he asks himself "Who the fuck is 'lemmie'?" (in reference to Baku asking "Lemmie get a boneless pizza") and "Ishyall's pizza? We don't got that shit, neither" (In reference to Baku telling Schnitzel "It's y'alls pizza, don't ask me").
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He pulls a variant on Baku where he hangs up on him, first time by saying "I'm deadass not making this pizza" and the second time by saying "Don't ever call this restaurant again".
  • Vocal Dissonance: He has a rather-wimpy voice despite his large build.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: In Boneless Pizza 2, he asks "Is this a joke?" to which Baku replies "Probably".

     Lois

Lois

An employee at Subway.

     Perry

Perry

A worker at the NIKE Store.

     Jane

Jane

Another employee at another restaurant.
  • Nice Girl: She is the only food service employee who remained polite towards Baku throughout his entire order.
  • Weirdness Censor: She unflinchingly takes Baku's infamous "boneless pizza" order. Much to Baku's dismay.

     Grim

Grim

A guy who comes into a deli store while Baku's working and argues with him in "I Hate This Job".
  • Exact Words: His antagonizing of Baku in "I Hate This Job" happens because he came into the store at 9:57 when it closes at 10.
Grim: Aight, what time you close?
    Baku: 10.
Grim: Aight, bet. In that case, I'll have two boneless-
    Baku: The fuck?
  • Killed Off for Real: Word of God confirms that he was killed with Baku's FOH 🅱️ in "I Hate This Job".
  • Vocal Dissonance: His voice sounds like that of a young man, and compared to the series he comes from, he's lost his Jamaican accent.

    Santa Claus
Saint Nick himself.

    Katz

Katz

An employee at Jimmy John's.

    Roger

Roger

"I'm glad I came to work strapped."

An employee at GameStop.

  • Bullying a Dragon: He still treats Baku rudely after observing that he has powers such as the YEET. Even after he comes back after it's revealed he didn't actually die he tries to mess with him again.
  • Exposed Extraterrestrials: He isn't wearing any clothing.
  • The Greys: He is one.
  • Guns Akimbo: How he holds Baku and Lil Broomstick at gunpoint.
  • Killed Off for Real: Subverted. Baku originally thought he killed Roger with his YEET ability, but Obito revealed that all Baku was doing was launching him into a new dimension. Much to Baku's surprise.
  • Know When to Fold Them: He tries to shoot Baku (who's harassing him for a PS5) but relents when he no-sells the bullets.
  • Perpetual Frowner: He always has an unamused expression, which is due to his character render, but he also generally sounds unenthused most of the time.
  • Precision F-Strike: His only line after Tobi rescues him from the other dimension and returns him to the main dimension in "Supreme Court":
    Roger: Ay, what the fuck?
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He cusses a lot. Literally every other line of his has at least one swear word in it.
  • Too Dumb to Live: He tries holding Baku and Lil Broomstick at gunpoint after observing Baku's YEET ability.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Roger has a nasally, vaguely Latino-sounding accent.

    Police Fish

Police Fish

"Yeah, we got a little situation."

The police.

  • An Ice Person: Both fish have a move similar to Baku's YEET, where they yell SUBJUGATION. However, rather than erasing the targeted person from existence, it temporarily flash-freezes them.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: They may be corrupt, but Baku shouldn't be driving without a license, especially over the speed limit.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands: The SUBJUGATION, first seen in "No License".

    Swagkage

Swagkage

"You're getting locked up. I GUARANTEE you do thirty."

Baku's interrogator after he gets arrested.

  • Jerkass Has a Point: Like the police fish, he tells Baku that going 85 in a 25 zone isn't a joke.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: When he's had enough of Baku's nonsense he calls in the big guns and stops messing around...
  • Non-Standard Character Design: He has a full animation, unlike anyone else in the series
  • No-Sell: Completely cancels out Baku's YEET with his ALMIGHTY PUSH.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: He only tries to get Baku to confess. He can even respect Baku disobeying the traffic laws but not when he's doing 85 instead of keeping it 100.

    Felix the Cat

Felix the Cat

Baku: "You about to sell me a single shoe?"
Felix: "We do sales. Buy 2 get 1 free. Some people come out with three shoes."

A nonchalant worker at the Shoe Store.

Baku: "30 dollars? You musta thought I was the dumb and the desperate."
Felix:
"I did, that's why I offered it."
Baku: "What's good dawg? Y'all doing a shoe sale?"
Felix: "I'm a cat."
  • Exact Words: "Buy 2 get 1 free." He does not mean one free pair of shoes but a single shoe.
  • Literal-Minded: Takes all of Baku's sarcastic insults and allusions literally.
Baku: "You on monkey business?"
Felix: "I never been a monkey."
  • Mirror Character: Acts just like Baku does in the earlier videos.
  • Straight Man: Inverted. The series formula usually has Baku trying to get an extremely unusual request done at a place of business with the worker acting as the Straight Man, astounded by Baku's foolishness. In "Shoe Sale", it's Felix who gives an extremely unusual offer as the business worker with Baku acting as the straight man trying to buy some genuine shoes.
  • Super-Stoic Shopkeeper: An unmoving person who unlike other workers in the series never insults Baku but doesn't put up with his usual business either.
