Russian Empire / Novorossiyan General-Governorate
Official Name: Russian Empire
Ruling Party: Soyuz Gosudarstvennogo Obyedineniya Rossiinote
Ideology: Oligarchynote
The Murder of Nicholas II in Kiev stirred up Russia. The government of confidence led by Prime Minister Stolypin stabilized the country and withstood the Great War. But the war broke the spirit of the Russian people. The socialists along with the traitorous liberals plunged the country into turmoil. The collapse of the country was stopped through the efforts of the people who remained faithful to the oath. A decade passed and Russia has recovered. Alexander Kolchak holds the steering wheel firmly but the clouds thickened over Russia. Will the admiral withstand the coming flood or will the stream blow Russia to the rocks of History?- Allohistorical Allusion: Russia at the start of game is fractured amongst various warlords under the nominal leadership of a military dictator styling himself as the Regent of the effectively defunct monarchy, making Russia a combined analog to both Interwar China and Francoist Spain.
- Civil War: The main reason for the Russian Empire's decline is that it was unable to recover from the Civil War, having given too much authority to regional governors in order to keep up a facade of unity.
- Evil Chancellor: If any of the possible leaders of the Rusian Empire installs a Romanov on the throne, he will switch from Regent for Life to this.
- State Sec: The Black Hundreds are a far-right, ultra-reactionary monarchist group that essentially act as Kolchak's thugs against liberals and socialists.
- Vestigial Empire: After the Great War, the Russian Empire is but a shadow of its former self. Lithuania, Belarus, Western Ukraine, Armenia and most of Central Asia (except Kazakhstan) have formally declared independence, Russian Manchuria is controlled by a rival Republican government, most of the Southern Caucasus is controlled by Red Army remnants. The rest of the territories still controlled by Russian Empire, though nominally under control of Petrograd, is in truth a dysfunctional disaster of barely held together provincial lords that exists as a unified country only on paper, and is ready for the first spark to formally collapse into a warlord era.

- Allohistorical Allusion: As a renowned admiral who takes over a post-revolutionary country with the backing of a reactionary coalition and rules as a regent for life, Kolchak is eerily reminiscent of Hungarian Regent Miklos Horthy.
- Assassin Outclassin': While Kolchak is in Yalta, Drozdovsky will organize an assasination attempt against him, which was foiled by his bodyguards.
- Evil Reactionary: Kolchak can ally with the reactionary Black Hundreds association, as well as with ultraconservatives and other far-right groups.
- Glory Days: A former legend, famous for spilling revolutionary blood, Kolchak now seems to be merely biding his time until the end of the next Duma session. A man once determined to tame the beast of Russia in revolt is now running a government which can only be accurately described as ineffective.
- Internal Reformist: Instead of diving Russia further into reaction, Kolchak can potentially enact Neo-Stolypin reforms by abolishing serfdom, cracking down the Black Hundreds, and opening up to the West.
- Mythology Gag: The Liberal Reformist Kolchak's superevent music is another version of the mod's former front-end theme
- Regent for Life: Kolchak has been ruling the Russian Empire since the death of Tsar Alexei, as there were no clear successors for the Imperial throne.
- Status Quo Is God: Unlike his fellow unifiers, or even his usurpers, Kolchak does not offer anything new to the table regarding the many unique ideologies that Russia can potentially adopt; either only reforming to a Stolypinist constitutional monarchy or regressing to a reactionary regime at worst. The Alexiad continues; All in Safety Lasts
Mikhail Drozdovsky
Role: Regentnote (Summer Coup victory)
Party: Russkii Natsionalnii Soyuz Uchastnikov Voyninote

- Cool Train: Drozdovsky will build more modern locomotives and a railroad system to in order to improve the infrastructure of the Empire.
- Cult of Personality: Drozdovsky will create a cut of personality around himself.
- Evil Colonialist: Drozdovsky's Novy Kurs program involves sending ethnic Russians en masse to settle in Central Asia and turning the peoples of the steppes into a minority in their own homeland.
- Internal Reformist: If Drozdovsky comes to power, he reforms the decrepit empire into something much greater, building train tracks spreading across the empire, modernizing the economy, and, unfortunately, colonizing the Steppe.
- Meet the New Boss: At the end of the day, no matter how modern and wealthy the Novy Kurs has made it, this new Russia forged from Drozdovsky's ambitions will still be the same; led by a military strongman as its regent and a monarch (if there even is one) delegating their authority to the Imperial Army. The smoke went up the chimney just the same.
- The Purge: Drozdovsky will launch a purge against those he accuses of treason and much later will institute periodic purges against enemies of the state.
- Regent for Life: If he defeats Alexander Kolchak, Drozdovsky will replace him as Regent and true leader of the Russian Empire.
- Repressive, but Efficient: The Drozdovite RNSUV is a brutal military dictatorship oppressing ethnic minorities, but the regime is ruthlessly hellbent on improving the lives of the Russian people by modernizing at any cost.
- Vast Bureaucracy: Drozdovsky "streamlines" and consolidates the Russian government bureaucracy in order to facilitate his reforms and to divest power from the military, a source of opportunists like him, from getting similar ideas of couping the Regent.
Mikhail Diterikhs
Role: Regentnote (Shtabs-Kapitans coup)
Party: Rossiiskoe Narodno-Imperskoe (Shtabs-Kapitanskoe) Dvizhenienote
Ideology: Religious Fundamentalismnote
In-Game Biography Click to Show
- The Coup: Diterikhs comes to power through a coup against Kolchak's government.
- Evil Reactionary: Diterikhs is even described as a "reactionary among reactionaries", wanting to turn back the clock to the times of absolute monarchy and fundamentalist Orthodox faith and absolutely hating any changes different from his ideal.
- The Fundamentalist: Diterikhs is an arch-reactionary and fanatical Orthodox Christian who considered the Russian Civil War a Holy War, and himself a crusader against Bolshevism. If he seizes power, he turns the Russian Empire into a theocratic absolute monarchy adhering to a fundamentalist Orthodox creed.
- The Theocracy: His path is essentially this, as after the coup he will ban all non-believers from Russia and form a theocratic regime with an Orthodox Patriarch in charge.
Alexander Kazembek
Role: Country Leader (Military coup)
Party: Soyuz Mladorossovnote
Ideology: Revolutionary Nationalismnote
In-Game Biography Click to Show
- Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Rising to power would make him the first leader of the Russian Empire of Azerbaijani or Iranian descent.
- Commie Nazis: Kazembek is the leader of the Mladorossi, a very strange political group that fuse Russian monarchism and the Soviet system advocated by the socialist revolutionaries from the Russian Civil War into a strange hybrid ideology classified in-game as despotic. This is actually subverted, in that the Mladorossi aren't actually socialist (they're corporatist) and any resemblance to socialism are purely aesthetic for the most part. Even in real life their claims of being this (and recognizing the Soviet Union as the true and rightful Russia) were basically just to get in the good graces of the Soviet Union and hopefully shape the state to their liking.
- Putting on the Reich: Kazembek holds the title of Glava (leader) of the Mladorossi movement he founded.
Anastasia I
Role: Monarchnote (Mladorossi installs Anastasia)
Party: Soyuz Mladorossovnote
Ideology: Revolutionary Nationalismnote
- Did Anastasia Survive?: Few are sure where the Mladorossi really brought Anastasia back, and most don't even believe that she was still alive in 1919. Some claim she has been under their protection since 1920, others claim she is an impostor, dragged out of the shadows from some ambitious aristocratic family. Word of God, however, confirms that it is in fact her, as the Imperial family, save Nicholas and Alexei, survived.
- Puppet King: Tsaritsa Anastasia holds very little power compared to the members of the Mladorossi, who were responsible for crowning her.
- Rightful King Returns: Anastasia Nikolayevna, the only surviving child of Tsar Nicholas II, can be crowned Tsaritsa of Russia should the Mladorossi come into power.
Vselovod I/Andrei I
Role: Monarchnote (Kolchak/Drozdovsky/Diterikhs installs a puppet tsar)
Ideology: Absolute Monarchynote (Drozdovsky)
- Puppet King: Tsar Vselovod or Andrei is but a puppet for either Kolchak, Drozdovsky or Diterikhs after they take over Western Russia.

- Curb-Stomp Battle: During the Kolchak-Drozdovsky war, Seyn is able to decide whether or not to go through with his ambitious plans and attempt to seize Petrograd and proclaim a new Russian Empire pretender in the area. If he does, his troops are massacred.
- Failure Is the Only Option: If Seyn decides to seize Petrograd as Kolchak and Drozdovsky go to war, his troops are crushed and subsequently execute him. If he has the good sense to not carry out his over-ambitious plans, he'll still be forced to resign amidst mass protests, but at least gets to keep his life. In either case, he can never turn his dream of becoming Regent of Russia into reality.
- The Mutiny: After Seyn's disastrous attempt to seize Petrograd, his troops mutiny against him and execute him.
- The Starscream: Despite having been originally installed by the Russians, Seyn has ambitions to overthrow Alexander Kolchak, take over Petrograd, and proclaim himself the new Regent of Russia.

Ideology: Revolutionary Nationalismnote
In-Game Biography Click to Show
- Glorious Leader: Päällikkö (Chief) Kekkonen is the embodiment of the Finnish concept of sisu, the man who led the Finnish nation from the crossroads of existence towards glory.
- Historical Villain Upgrade: The real Kekkonen was only briefly part of a far-right nationalist group in his youth, and was a moderate centrist politician for most of his life, although he came the closest to a dictator of the leaders of modern Finland when he was "re-elected" President in 1973 without rival candidates or elections. Here, he is an ultranationalist dictator who commits what amounts to Russian genocide to realise his pan-Uralic ambitions.
- A Nazi by Any Other Name: Kekkonen will militarise Finland, create an ultranationalist and ultra-irredentist nation based on militarism and creation of an industrial-military complex filled with paramilitary groups to bolster conscription numbers. Promoting Finno-Ugric supremacism, he seeks to expand Finland to the Urals and completely assimilate Russians, establishing a completely homogenous pan-Uralic nation that has expelled the Muscovite toxin forever.

- Earn Your Bad Ending: Even his own biography can't believe that this maniac actually succeeded in taking over Finland, and a lot needs to break his way for it to happen, let alone for him to realize his mad ambitions.
- Naturalized Name: Sigurd Wettenhovi-Aspa takes the Egyptian name Sihathor Wahneferhotep-Ankhkhaf after proclaiming himself Pharaoh of Finland.
- Please Select New City Name: All Finnish cities are given new Egyptian names by Pharaoh Sihathor Wahneferhotep-Ankhkhaf.
- Word Salad Philosophy: Depending on who you ask, Sigurd Wettenhovi-Aspa is either a power-mad dictator, a visionary with ambitious plans for Finland, or just plain crazy. According to his theories, the Finnish people originated from Java, and subsequently went on a journey from there to Egypt, and lived there until Roman times where a portion of them went to Finland, and settled there after a painful and horrific journey. Once in power, he'll rouse the Egyptian people into rebelling against their British overlords, then merge Finland and Egypt into one nation and proclaim himself Pharaoh of the Thirty-Fourth Dynasty.

- The Federation: In order to account for the Baltic SFSR's constituent peoples' rights for national self-determination, Anvelt adopts a compromise policy of contradictory-sounding international nationalism - in practice, this means establishing a separate Soviet Socialist Republic for each of the five founding peoples of the Baltic SFSR, all of them being merely administrative divisions of the same state.

Kavkaz Society
Official Name: Caucasian Federation of Soviets, Republic of Labour and Virtue (Mayakovsky, Russian reunification), Island of the Asian Soviet Socialist Union (Khlebnikov, Russian reunification), Socialist Republic of Eurasia (Mirsky, Russian reunification), Caucasian Federation of Peoples (Severyanin), Sublime Kingdom of Russia (Severyanin, Russian reunification), United Socialist States of Russia (Stalin, Russian reunification)
Ruling Party: Obshchestvo Revolyutsionnykh Kommunistov na Kavkazenote
Ideology: Futurismnote
The Red Army of the Russian Republican Movement, retreating south, fortified their position in the Caucasus. In this easily defensible position they managed to fend off the White attacks. The cornered Bolsheviks needed a strong visionary to guide them in these hard times. Their saviour became none other than Vladimir Mayakovsky, a futurist poet and revolutionary. He reorganised the Red forces in the Caucasus into a republic that became known as the Kavkaz Society - a land of poets and prophets. The Society transcends the divide that brings Europe into flames, instead presenting a synthesis of the two most revolutionary projects of modernity – Futurism and Communism.- The Federation: As it takes over the rest of the Caucasus, the Kavkaz Society adopts a federative mode of governance in order to better rule the region's disparate ethnic groups.
- Please Select New City Name: When the Kavkaz Society under Mayakovsky, Khlebnikov or Stalin reunifies Russia, it changes the names of several cities, with some names being those given by the Soviet Union in OTLnote .
- The Remnant: When the communist faction of the Russian Republican Army retreated south, they fortified their position in the defensible Caucasus, where they managed to fend off Tsarist attacks.
- Soviet Superscience: Mayakovsky and Mirsky have access to an event chain that describes science "going beyond bourgeois conventions and morality" that describes various weird theories and experiments (taken from real Soviet scientists). These include the foundation of "cosmobiology" - something that resembles a more modern version of astrology, and the (failed) attempt to create a human-ape hybrid.
- Utopia Justifies the Means: All of the leaders of the Kavkaz Society have a futurist vision of society where beneficial technology and egalitarian ideals go hand to hand, while advocating ruthless and uncompromising politics against those willing to stand in the way of their views. Notably, all of the reunification news events for the Kavkaz Society describe the fantastical advancements made in Russia alongside the darker side of their revolution, such as Mayakovsky's aggressive rhetoric, Mirsky's plans for world conquest, Khlebnikov's quase-insane experiments, and Stalin being himself.

- Monumental Damage: As a demonstration of his break from the past, Mayakovsky destroys the Kremlin to make way for a modern-style government building made from glass and steel.
- The Power of Hate: Mayakovsky embraces hatred as the one emotion that unites people in the face of adversity. They are indestructible because their hearts are filled with hostility towards everything that opposes them. There is no challenge that they are unable to conquer through the sheer power of pure hatred.
- Rage Against the Heavens: Mayakovsky declares God a tyrant and orders his banishment from the world.
- Reluctant Ruler: Sometimes Mayakovsky wishes to retire as Chairman due to his age and dreams of a heroic death in battle, but he also has the responsibility of carrying the revolution, which he refuses to abandon. He won't turn back like a coward, he will finish the revolution or die trying.
- Richard Nixon, the Used Car Salesman: In real life, Mayakovsky was a Futurist poet, playwright and actor. In this timeline, he is the ruler of Accelerationist Georgia.
- The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized: A revolutionary futurist, Mayakovsky believes that ruthless and destructive methods are needed to bring about the new world: including mass terror and destruction of historical monuments.

- The Social Darwinist: According to Severyanin, the committed Futurist should feel no pity for he who will not take his life into his own hands but regard them as but vermin. Those who succeed are ultimately and inherently more valuable than those poor in wealth, spirit, character and human quality, who should rot in their squalor or live as mere servants among those better than they are. - Above Good and Evil: Stalin rejects the concepts of good and evil as lies spun by reactionaries to demonise those who challenge the system. The only morality needed is that which concerns the revolution, as it is the great liberator of the proletariat.
- Allohistorical Allusion: Stalin can become the leader of a country called the USSR like OTL, although the meaning of the acronym differs.
- Anti-Mutiny: Stalin and Mayakovsky launch a coup to defend the proletarian revolution when Igor Severyanin, the only right-wing potential Chairman of the Kavkaz Society, takes over and threatens to end everything the Society dedicated their lives to.
- The Coup: Stalin launches a coup immediately after his hated rival Igor Severyanin wins the Chairman election of 1936.
- Cult of Personality: Stalin reinvigorates the proletariat by plastering propaganda outlining the possibilities of mankind, from science to productivity, on every building. Children shall be taught of the great heroes, inventors and warriors of the past, who struggled against the evils of capitalism. Everyday revolutionaries shall be turned into legends, near mythological figures who rose up and cast off their chains.
- Emperor Scientist: Influenced by Howard Scott's planning techniques, Stalin puts the economy in the hands of scientists and engineers, in order to ensure that every measure implemented will increase productivity.
- Red Baron: His first focus describes Stalin as the Alchemist of the Proletariat, who shall transmute the backwards, conservative Russia into a golden state, with a golden future.

Republic of Armenia
Official Name: Republic of Armenia
Ruling Party: Sots’ial Demokrat Hnch’akyan Kusakts’ut’yunnote
Ideology: Democratic Socialismnote
- Arch-Enemy: To the Kavkaz Society, as every foreign policy for Armenia ultimately culminates in their conquest.
- Likewise, the Sublime Ottoman State is one of Armenia's main opponents. The Ottomans have cores on several Armenian states and will almost always launch a war with the Armenians to take them back. Many of Armenia's focus trees deal with preparing for (or starting) war with the Ottomans.
- Evil Colonialist: Armenia can forcibly assimilate the non-Armenian populations in its territory.
- Flipping the Bird: Played for Laughs, with one of their focuses literally being called "Giving the Turks the Finger".
- Sadistic Choice: The only way possible to create a benevolent Progressive/Revisionist Socialist Armenian state is to refuse to negotiate with the Azeri rebels and crush the rebellion. If the government attempts to enter peaceful dialogue, then Armenia falls under a Reactionary government that turns the whole country into a rabidly anti-Communist hellhole that would make the Khmer Rouge blush.

Ruling Party: Klikka Dutovanote
Ideology: Military Dictatorshipnote
The advent of the civil war had shown all parties that the military districts had been too inefficient. From these conditions was born the Kazan military district, led by Alexander Dutov and his autonomous band of Cossacks. Meant to be a neutral force, Dutov threw in his lot with Kolchak during the conflict. Following the crushing of Kazakh protests, Alash parties started to actively oppose Dutov. The situation became worse following the famine of 1932-33 which led to a Pro-Communist Peasants revolt. While it seems that the troubles of the Kazan Military District are largely over, it shall be seen if the vultures circling the nation will make themselves known.- Bilingual Bonus: The writing on Rasputin's flag reads "слава христу", meaning "glory to Christ".

- And There Was Much Rejoicing: Many ethnic Kazakhs cry tears of joy upon hearing of Alexander Dutov's death.
- Assassination Attempt: In one of Kazan's first events, a disguised anarchist attempts to assassinate Dutov by throwing a hand grenade at him. Which paths Kazan can subsequently follow depends on whether Dutov survives or not.
- Evil Colonialist: Dutov is a brutal dictator who violently represses his Kazakh subjects in the Kazan military district.
- Plot-Triggering Death: Should Dutov be successfully assassinated, his death sets in motion the rise of Eurasianism among the Russian aristocracy and intelligentsia of the Military District who became disillusioned by how Russia abandoned them after the Ataman's death, as well as a conspiracy regarding Rasputin; this eventually leads to the establishment of either the Eurasian Union or the Tsardom of Holy Rus.
- The Starscream: During the Russian Civil War, Dutov sided with Alexander Kolchak and became the de facto governor of a region spanning most of Kazakhstan. When Mikhail Drozdovsky offers Dutov to guarantee Kazan's autonomous status, Dutov has the choice to betray his erstwhile master and sign a pact with the dark messiah of Russian monarchism, instead of staying loyal until Kolchak can properly reintegrate Kazan into the Empire.

Nonetheless, Russian remains the only official language of the country, with all citizens being encouraged to think of it as their mother tongue, because only the Russian language could bridge the gap between Europe and Asia.
- The Philosopher King: Duke Trubetskoy treats the entire country as a testing ground for Eurasianist thinkers. According to his Idea-Ruler concept, the idea is a central element of Eurasianist governance.

"Burning Memories" rework
Boris Savinkov
Role: Country Leader (Savinkov takeover)
Ideology: Nationalist Socialismnote , Fiumanismnote (Radical route)
- Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Savinkov is compared to Death riding on the Pale Horse (in real life, he even named his second autobiography after the Pale Rider). When he takes over Russia, his superevent is accompanied by the following quote from Revelations 8:6:And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth.
- Roaring Rampage of Revenge: Savinkov is obsessed with a single goal: revenge on Alexander Kolchak and his disgusting lapdogs, and triumph of the Socialist Revolution. The root of evil, the cancer at the throat, the iron beast which threatens to devour the last bastions of passion—that is what Petrograd is, or more specifically Alexander Kolchak.
- Significant Wardrobe Shift: Should he go down his radical route, Savinkov's portrait will change to one of him wearing a military outfit with a sinister look.
- Well-Intentioned Extremist: Savinkov seeks to create an "Idylic agrarian Russian nation of fairness and dead landlords" through liberal use of terrorism, which he justifies by saying that he's only retaliating against misdeeds of others and fighting for the greater good. Downplayed somewhat if he goes down his fiumean path, where the government is taken over by a sort of terrorist aristocracy and the state generally tends towards fascism, if with some socialist elements.
- Western Terrorists: Savinkov is the most wanted terrorist in Russia's recent history, and recruits many terrorist Socialist Revolutionaries against the Russian Empire after he takes power. In fact, the importance of terrorism is engraved into his ideology, with Savinkov believing that violence should be done for its own sake as an act that gave meaning to life.

- False Flag Operation: When Annenkov's minions want to raid fellow Russians, they do so with strict instructions of covering their faces, removing any and all insignia, dressing in Turkestani attire and speaking as little Russian as possible around outsiders.
- Jolly Roger: Upon cutting links with the Russian Empire, the Governorate-General will adopt a new Cossack flag with a skull over a pair of swords.
- Leave No Survivors: Viewing prisoners of war and civilians as impediments to their advance, the Annenkovites simply give them a bullet to their head.
- Rape, Pillage, and Burn: Known for their cruelty, the Annenkovists spend most of their resources on savage raids in neighbouring territories and sometimes their own.
- Totalitarian Gangsterism: Russian Turkestan is a lawless frontier, where Annenkov and his motley army of Siberian Cossacks, bandits and other undesirables are free to roam and ravage as they please. For nearly two decades uninterrupted, they have bled the people dry via extortion, raids, massacres and everything in between.

- Private Military Contractors: According to Rosenbaum's objectivist principles, military officers have to transform themselves into innovators and capitalists, proud in their abilities and strengths and showing only contempt for those who oppose them. Every officer is like a boss in the workplace, who answer to higher ups and have to manage the workers. Soldiers shall have to prove their worth; if they don't, they're out. The chain of command must stop considering themselves selfless devotees to a cause, because that 'reeks of socialism'.
- Richard Nixon, the Used Car Salesman: In this timeline, Rosenbaum never went to America or became a writer with the pen name Ayn Rand, but stayed in Russia and can eventually take power in Russian Manchuria.
- The Starscream: Rosenbaum is Pavel Milyukov's subordinate in the Kadets, but can seize power from him and turn the party toward her vision of Objectivism.
