Executed after the third trial for the murder of Mariko Nakazawa and Mugen.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: His execution consists of him answering questions, until he gets one wrong, upon which he is subjected to a bomb's explosion. He sees his mother and crawls over to her, only to see that it was a fake, which also exploded.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Definitely.
- Deal with the Devil: In the third trial, it was revealed that he got a video camera to make Mariko happy. In exchange, he had to kill someone. His victim of choice was Mugen, but because of unforeseen circumstances, namely Mamouro attempting to kill Mariko, he killed Mariko as well after she shot Mamouro.
- Death by Irony: In his backstory, he killed his mother in an accident. After the third trial, his execution consisted of a fake of his own mother blowing up, mirroring the accident.
- Embarrassing First Name
- Everyone Can See It: Root likes to think he keeps his love for Mariko well hidden. Every one of his fellow students (save for the object of his affections) disagree.
- Failure Knight: Has failed to protect Mariko from the dangers of Monoworld.
- Subverted in that he is the reason Mariko died in the first place.
- Green-Eyed Monster: Experiences jealousy when Mariko calls Ken a "pretty boy"

- Informed Loner: Talks to quite a lot of the cast, even though she thinks of herself as a loner.
- Karma Houdini: She was allowed to move on to the chapter 4 trial even though she was responsible for Mugen's death in chapter 3. She legitimately got away with murder.
- Lack of Empathy: At first. She changed her tune later.
- Neighbourhood-Friendly Gangsters: Despite being a criminal, she's a good girl at heart.
- Nice Girl: Is a genuinely nice person even despite her talent.
- Playing with Fire: Her main form of attack in the RPG.
- The Stoic: Nothing really fazes her in the killing game.
- Not So Stoic: The discovery of a certain body part shocked her immensely, and despite not showing it, each death gets to her. She broke down crying when she told Root that Mariko was dead. Also she broke down when she was told she was the reason Mugen died.
- Off on a Technicality: How she survived past the Chapter 3 trial.
- Unwitting Pawn: Her action of opening the Mystery Room is what caused Mugen's death, which was all part of Alexander Root's plan to kill Mugen.
- The Smurfette Principle: Out of the 6 girls in Monoworld, she is The only female survivor.
- Too Dumb to Live: Would have been it if not for Ken's timely interruption. Alternately, very nearly caused a bad end during the Mastermind trial
- Verbal Tic: She says 'ya know?' a lot, ya know?
Died of sleep deprivation, which was part of Chapter 2's motive.
- Chekhov's Gun: The Kravenski Flower The ones discovered during the final investigation were all red herings..
- Dishing Out Dirt: Her main form of attack in the RPG. Depending on her equipment, she can even inflict more powerful poison on her enemies.
- Dissonant Serenity: Her demeanor is very serene for the situation she's in.
- Drop Dead Gorgeous: Even after her death, she is still the most beautiful character in Monoworld. She is also the only one to die without any physical injuries.
- Frame-Up: She framed her brother for the release of the Kravenski flowers in her hometown. She was successful in getting him jailed.

- Dark Is Not Evil: Despite his appearance and talent, he is not a bad person.
- Failure Knight: Wanted to protect Alexia, Adrianna and Saoirse. All of them have died and he blames himself for it. His lover even was a part of the Beta Killing Game.
- The Idealist: Seems to genuinely believe that Rousseau was Right.
- The Mole: Revealed to be the Hope traitor in chapter 3
- Wholesome Crossdresser:Revealed in an FTE in Chapter 3 and a pre-despair thread.

- I Cannot Self-Terminate: In order for his plan to function, he had to die by another person's hand. He requested that the hand that kills him be Mariko's specifically, so she and Root could get out.

- My Death Is Just the Beginning: The plan he had since early on was revealed to be this. Mariko was to kill him so she and Root could escape Monoworld as per the chapter 3 motive. The plan failed due to Mamouro not committing suicide and Root killing Mariko and Mugen.

- The Friend Nobody Likes: Even before he was revealed to be the despair traitor in chapter two, you'd be hard pressed to find anybody who actually liked him. There was everything from insults to name calling to one character breaking his hands by punching him in the face.
- The Mole: He was revealed to be the Despair Traitor in the Chapter 2 trial, who works with Monokuma.
- The Scrappy: By far the most hated character in Monoworld.

- Trigger-Happy: He just loves his guns after Chapter 3 kicked off.
- What Could Have Been: Taro could have survived the third trial. The bullet Ken shot would have hit Alexia instead.

The murdered Mariko Nakazawa was an unnamed stunt double. She was the true mastermind all along.

- Cruel and Unusual Death: Boy howdy. He was dissected by Alexander Root, to see if he really was a ghost. Then a bomb was attached to him while he suffered and screamed in agony. When Ignia opened the door, the bomb exploded, killing him.

The game's smithy, who the cast can buy new equipment from, if unlocked. Is Kaneko's helper.
- Adam Smith Hates Your Guts: She's helping Kaneko out, so she has to listen to her. So even if she wanted to give the party things for free, she can't.
- Lampshade Hanging: Points out that the weapons of the cast are unusual, to say the least.
Layla, SHSL Belly Dancer
A girl who set up a store in Kaneko's shop as well. Before she sells her wares, she needs to be impressed.
